Our experience

Our experience at Venus Beach Hotel was average and did not fully meet our expectations for a 5-star hotel.

The food was good for the first 2–3 days, but afterwards it became very repetitive. The children were served pasta for 3 days in a row. We ordered a club sandwich from the other menu because we were not satisfied with the All Inclusive, and it took about an hour to arrive. The service was also slow; several times, the water arrived only after we had already started eating.

On one occasion, the meat was raw. We reported it and it was replaced immediately.

Cleanliness was also average. Our room smelled of cigarette smoke and room cleaning was quite delayed.

The playroom was almost empty, with old games, and all the games required an additional payment. The gym was good, but some handles were missing from one machine. There was live music at the bar, but we did not enjoy it. At the pool kiosk, there was not even a fruit platter, which felt rather stingy for a 5-star All Inclusive hotel.

Nevertheless, we would stay again mainly for the pool and the sea, but we would choose breakfast only. For us, the All Inclusive was not worth the money.

5 Stars? You Must Be Joking.

The worst hotel experience of my life

This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. I am still shocked and have absolutely no idea how this hotel can possibly be rated as 5 stars.

It all started the moment I arrived.

First of all, the staff at reception were extremely unfriendly. They explained absolutely nothing about the hotel. Nobody told me where to get towels for the pool or spa, what time the pool opened or what time it closed. The only information I was given was which floor breakfast was on.

The most important question, apparently, was how I wanted to pay for room service if I decided to order it — whether I wanted to leave a deposit or pay immediately.

Before I had even seen my “wonderful” room, I asked whether it would be possible to extend my stay if I decided I wanted to remain for another night. I asked whether I would need to do it through Booking.com or whether I could arrange it directly at reception.

I was told that the hotel was fully booked and that they had only one room available for €300+ per night. Meanwhile, I could see rooms on Booking.com for approximately the same price as the room I had already booked. Strange.

While I was waiting, I went to the toilet in the lobby. It was already in terrible condition: shabby doors, stains everywhere and pieces of toilet paper lying around. I thought, okay, this is a beach hotel, perhaps people coming in from the beach make a mess and the staff simply haven’t had time to clean it. Fine.

Then I collected my key, went to my room, opened the door — and was absolutely horrified.

First of all, the smell. The room smelled of mould and urine, mixed with some extremely unpleasant air freshener or cleaning product.

There were stains on the floor. There was what looked like a bug on the chair. The entire chair was covered in various stains and was simply impossible to sit on.

Before I could even put my belongings in the wardrobe, I had to wipe the shelves down with wet wipes because they were covered in a layer of dust, crumbs and other people’s hair.

The toilet looked like it had been there for about 20 years. The toilet seat and the whole thing were absolutely disgusting.

I was extremely tired and, fortunately, had only booked one night. My Booking.com reservation was non-refundable, so I decided not to waste my time arguing with reception and simply tried to get through the night.

Later, I ordered food delivery because I had absolutely no intention of ordering anything from the hotel.

After collecting my delivery downstairs, I went back to my room and wanted to charge my phone. There was no power outlet next to the bed.

There was a telephone next to the bed, so I thought I could simply call reception and ask for an extension cord.

Then I discovered that the telephone was apparently just a decoration.

It was not connected, and there wasn’t even a socket or connection available for it.

So I had to call reception from my mobile phone, explain my room number and ask for an extension cord. I was told that all the staff were busy and that I had to come downstairs myself to collect it.

A 5-star hotel, by the way.

I went downstairs, collected the extension cord myself, and was then told that I would also have to return it myself because apparently they normally don’t give extension cords to guests.

The telephone is a separate story altogether, because I honestly cannot understand why there is a telephone in the room if it is not connected and cannot be used.

And then I started thinking: what happens if a guest becomes seriously ill in the middle of the night? How are they supposed to call for help if the hotel telephone in the room doesn’t work?

Wonderful.

The next morning, when I was checking out, I asked reception to call me a taxi.

I heard “one minute, one minute, one minute” about five times, and eventually I simply ordered a taxi myself.

This entire experience was absolutely ridiculous.

I genuinely cannot understand how this hotel is presented on Booking.com and other platforms as a 5-star hotel.

The photos I am attaching speak for themselves.

This was not a 5-star experience. Not even remotely.

Great service and hospitality

We stayed at Venus Beach Hotel in July and had such a lovely experience from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to Milena, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. She kindly arranged for us to move to a sea view room at no extra cost, which made such a difference to our holiday. She was always approachable, helpful, and gave us some fantastic recommendations for places to visit in Paphos and restaurants to try, all of which we really enjoyed.

I'd also like to mention Harpreet, who was always welcoming and attentive in the restaurant. His friendly attitude never went unnoticed and made every meal feel that little bit more enjoyable.

The whole restaurant team also deserves recognition. Everyone we came across was friendly, helpful, and happy to assist, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay. It was clear that the staff genuinely cared about providing a great experience.

The spa facilities were another highlight of our holiday and are an absolute must-try if you're staying at the hotel. We treated ourselves to a back and shoulder massage, and it was outstanding. It was the perfect way to relax and unwind, and we'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to make their stay even more special.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Venus Beach Hotel. The comfortable surroundings, excellent service, and thoughtful touches from the staff made it a holiday to remember. We left with great memories and wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.

The most wonderful holiday ❤️

We had the pleasure of staying at Venus Beach Hotel for 5 nights, everything was beyond perfect, the staff are absolutely fabulous, special mentions to Milena for being so helpful and attentive when my partner was stung by a wasp and Maria for her excellent service on the bar and all the lattes she made for me. We had the most amazing time and loved it so much we have already rebooked for next July and we are already counting down the days to be back!

Excellent location, facilities & hospitality!

We’re a family of 5 and one of our children is an electric wheelchair user. First of all the total is very accessible even the walk down to the beach is on a slope. The hotel staff were very accommodating and anything we needed they always tried to provide.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The spa has been recently renovated (wasn’t like this when we stayed 2 years ago) and it’s stunning!

Venus beach itself has crystal clear waters! Absolutely beautiful to swim in.

I don’t have anything bad to say about this place at all, we had a fantastic holiday, we’ve stayed here in the past and will definitely stay again.
