We stayed here for 10 nights along with family and friends for our wedding out in Cyprus, and we had an absolutely fantastic stay. The hotel is compact, everything was in a couple of minutes walking distance from our room which suited us.
The rooms are well maintained, extremely spacious with comfortable beds. The food was excellent at both the main restaurant and the snack bar, a great selection and we all found something we enjoyed at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The little waterpark is fab as well!
The staff were spot on, friendly and accommodating- shout out to Laura who was super welcoming, friendly and bubbly!!
The location of the hotel is excellent as well, a 10 minute walk to Coral Bay Avenue where there are loads of bars, shops and restaurants.
We loved our stay and plan to return next September ☺️
Our stay at Kapetanios was overall very good. There were only a few minor things that could be improved on. The staff are all very nice and friendly, there’s also a guest relations person who floats around during meal times checking everything’s okay which was nice. The food was absolutely 10/10 for us, there was always something we liked to eat and we were always happy and full at the end of the meal. It always felt and tasted like a lot of love when into the preparation of the food. The staff working in the restaurant are very welcoming and very attentive at clearing your plates when you’re finished. The only negative we had about dinner was that the stage is right outside the doors, so if you’re eating from 8pm, all you can hear is the kids mini disco songs while you’re eating. Minor inconvenience.
The rooms were very clean upon arrival, however the cleaner doesn’t really do much. The beds were made and towels changed and that’s it. Pool towel was provided in the room on arrival. The rooms are very spacious with lots of storage space and a safe; could do with a black out curtain as it’s fairly bright in the morning. We were lucky enough to be staying in the main hotel, so I can’t comment on what the other rooms are like out in the little blocks. The TV had a few English channels which was good timing as the World Cup was on.
The hotel itself is very clean and spacious, there was always enough sunbeds (no sunbed wars!) and the water park was not too busy, however this might just be because of the time of year we have come. The lazy river in the water park was the selling point for us, with rubber rings and some random lost properly lilos provided. Only negative would be that the scumlines need to be cleaned asap. The lifeguards were also very vigilant and you often heard them blowing their whistle which meant they were actively watching the pools/slides. The water slides were also very fun! The toilets by the water park could do with a refurb though, very clean but very out dated.
If you are half board, the shops are a bit of a walk away. If you’re not very mobile, I wouldn’t recommend doing half board as there is a bit of hill to walk to get to the main strip. Personally it wasn’t a problem for me and my partner as we’re fairly fit, it took us about 10 minutes to walk to the main strip which isn’t that bad to be honest. If you do venture out to the shops, I would recommend going into a few shops before starting shopping as some prices differ. I would not recommend the hotel shop as it’s very overpriced but that’s a given in any hotel shop. Little tip for people on half board- bring a stainless steel bottle and fill it up with drinks from the shops so you can have a nice cool drink all day by the pool, so you don’t spend a fortune buying drinks. Half board can have juices and hot drinks at breakfast, but not at dinner. We did see a few people without wristbands getting fizzy drinks at dinner and nobody said anything, but we didn’t want to chance it and be rude when we’ve paid half board.
The evening entertainment was a bit mid. If you like bingo then you’re fine…but the entertainment afterwards was very questionable. If you want to go on holiday to get away from brits…don’t come here, all of the entertainment team are English, but I think it’s like that all over Cyprus. Overall, our experience was very positive.
The stay was very nice, kids loved the kids club and water park
