The highlights of our experience were the clean and well-maintained hotel, the friendly and helpful staff, the excellent

We had such a wonderful holiday and truly enjoyed our stay! From the moment we arrived, we felt that we had made the right choice. The hotel is clean, beautiful, well maintained, and has a lovely atmosphere. The staff were kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything we needed.

We stayed as a family with children, and the hotel was absolutely perfect for us. The kids had an amazing time, especially at the water park and with the activities, while we as parents were also able to relax and enjoy ourselves.

The food was delicious and varied, the service was excellent, and we really felt that the hotel cares about its guests and pays attention to the little details.

We left with so many beautiful memories and would definitely love to come back again. Thank you for a wonderful family vacation! Highly recommended ❤️

General overview.

All round an enjoyable last minute holiday with enough on site activities to entertain a 11 year old with the water park, daily water sports and football. However the cleanliness left a lot to be desired, blood on the duvet spotted upon a late night checking, although if it wasn’t for how meticulous I am then I probably wouldn’t have noticed until the morning. The small splash area was closed off for an afternoon but there was never any noticeable cleaning around the pools that I had witnessed. The à la cart restaurants were carnage, kids running riots, no manners regarding queue's, witnessed children and adults eating directly from serving dishes with their fingers. Also made staff aware that the glasses at the self serve drinks machine smelt of chemicals but got ignored so easily avoided this by making use of the Pool snack bars, little Italy in particular. The bookable restaurants were really enjoyable and we were lucky enough to get in to two. The staff in little Italy and the burger house were brilliant. My Partner did develop an ear infection and after speaking to reception who were of no help this resulted in a trip to Coral bay health clinic who were remarkable but he did end up being admitted to hospital. Due to this I was able to check out of the hotel room 2 hours later at no additional cost. I also found that the all inclusive not including lollies or a bottle of water for each guest a new one in all inclusive. The biggest let down for our stay was in fact not the hotel but the guest who were there on our stay. Family rooms within our corridor letting children run around bobby knocking, screaming and kicking off at all hours, adults not queuing, using manners for doors or lifts being held open and very much not having any respect for other people also trying to have a nice holiday. This also rolled over into water sports where adults would in fact hog the ball, take out kids and get quite aggressive, not to be taken lightly if younger children wanted to join in. Aside from that the hotel is in a lovely location with its own private beach within walking distance and with 15 minutes of the marina and a few other sight seeing opportunities. There were always sun beds available, towels to hand and drinks and snacks available all day long. Top tip, if you aren’t wanting to use public buses then hiring a car for a few days is cheaper than getting a taxi.

Just missed the mark for us.

The location was not too bad. There is a bus stop right outside the 615 will take you to Pafos, then the 618 to the Old Town - don't go on a Wednesday, it is half day closing. The hotel itself was nice, clean, and cool in the main reception area. The staff, some were great, some you felt like you were putting them out should you want more than 2 questions answered. The bedroom, which was advertised as a family room was small, 2 single beds pushed together and a fold down sofa bed for our 12 yr old. Air conditioned just to take the heat down to a more relaxing temperature but it wasn't cold. 1st floor pool view. We noticed that people were out 5am putting their towels out on sun loungers. Not sure why really because there were plenty of sun loungers, umbrellas and small tables. We went down for breakfast. There was plenty of choice. You are allocated a table, given a choice of indoors or outdoors. Make sure someone stays with the table while one of you gets your food or someone will pinch your table. This happened to us on multiple occasions. Choose outside too because inside resembles a school canteen and the noise is horrendous. All the guests seem to think this is their last meal ever - rushing round, lots of barging about and overloading their plates. Kids running around shouting, adults also shouting. The whole place lacks basic manners - this obviously isnt the hotel's fault but there should be some basic rules put in place to keep the noise down. There isn't one area where you can sit and eat in peace. The splash slides area again was rush rush rush, lots of kids running around pushing and a complete lack of regard for anyone. It was ok - I'm not a fan personally and our 12 year old wasnt 100% impressed as the queuing in 35 degrees put her off. The pools were clean, but really warm. A couple of bars outside which had some snacks which didn't look tempting. The drinks on tap were beer - there's a nack to pouring the beer or you end up with a glass of froth, juices - orange, grapefruit and apple were ok, but heavily watered down. Coffee machines were ok too but spat out a very small drink so you had to get 2. There is a shop on the lower ground floor which was stocked well with gifts, snacks & toiletries however its really expensive - 13 euros for a packet of asprin and 8 euros for a tub of chewing gum, its better if you go to the local supermarket - one opposite and one on the same side just up the road about 3 minutes walk. If you stay more than 3 nights, you are allowed to have a meal once in one of the A-La-Carte restaurants - you have to book - they were all fully booked so we didnt get the chance to sample - however, I definitely thought the the all you can eat buffet meals were ample to sample cruisines. The fussy kids area had plain pasta, chicken nuggets, chips and rice with peas in it - this was every night. Lots of delicious puds to choose from. I know it is a family hotel and catered for families, but I just felt that the whole place didnt allow you to wind down and relax.
We went to Pafos Zoo - it was ok but take cash if you want to interact with the elephant - its 50 euros per person and there must be 5 people at a time. We also went on a boat trip to the "blue lagoon" - dont bother. 40 minutes boat ride there, 20 minutes in the sea, and 40 minutes back. It wasnt really a lagoon, we were too far off land so it was about 3 metres deep - don't jump in if you aren't a confident swimmer. There was nothing to see if you are snorkelling - just sand and the odd pair of swimming trunks laying on the sea bed. Didnt see one fish. This was booked at the hotel as day excursion which was a staggering £180 for 3 of us. The lunch at the zoo was actually quite nice. So all in all - I would rate the hotel as 3star not 4star - I found it expensive for what you get. I really wouldnt go all inclusive again. It just missed the mark for us.

⭐️ 1 STAR – Do not be fooled by the photos. This is NOT the standard of family resort we expected.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We booked the Leonardo Laura Beach & Splash Resort expecting a high-standard family holiday. What we experienced was, quite frankly, unacceptable. Let's start with the biggest issue: HYGIENE. We witnessed faeces on the children's splash park equipment on THREE separate occasions, resulting in parts of the splash park being closed. The toddler pool was also closed TWICE because of faeces around the pool area. Let that sink in. This is a hotel specifically marketed as a family splash resort, yet we repeatedly had children's swimming areas contaminated with faeces. What was even more concerning was what happened afterwards. There was no obvious thorough deep clean. On one occasion, staining was still clearly visible on the bottom of the pool afterwards. We have travelled with our children to many hotels and countries and have never experienced anything like this. At other resorts, we've watched pool areas being professionally cleaned for hours at night and public areas being continuously maintained throughout the day. Here? The hotel simply never looked properly clean. Our 9-year-old son also developed an ear infection during the holiday after spending time swimming. We cannot claim the pool caused it, but after repeatedly witnessing the hygiene issues, you can imagine how concerned we were. Then there was our ROOM. We had constant brown water caused by a dripping, rotten cupboard. Not exactly what you expect when paying to stay in a supposedly high-standard hotel. And the customer service? Absolutely appalling. Other than the bar staff, who were genuinely lovely, we found the majority of staff we encountered to be rude, miserable and completely uninterested in providing good customer service. At reception, we simply asked which taxi option would be the cheapest and were mocked by members of the reception team. Why? Because we asked which taxi was cheapest? We're paying guests. We shouldn't be made to feel embarrassed for asking a perfectly reasonable question. We also had a ridiculous situation with a taxi returning from the harbour. The driver's card machine wouldn't work. My partner tried two phones and several different cards repeatedly to make the payment. It simply wouldn't process. We eventually had to walk away and return to the hotel. When we got back, we were confronted and made to feel as though we were deliberately trying not to pay, despite having made numerous genuine attempts to pay. Apparently the driver's faulty card machine was somehow our fault. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. Then there are the speciality restaurants. We booked on DAY ONE, yet getting availability was almost impossible. When we eventually managed to get into the Italian/Greek restaurant, we discovered it was a set menu with virtually nothing suitable for our children. So we left. Again — this is supposed to be a family resort. The staff barely smiled, the atmosphere was miserable and we were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. And then there was something particularly important to us. My partner had arranged with the hotel for a special proposal setup because he was proposing to me during our holiday. This was supposed to be one of the most magical and memorable moments of our lives. He had organised it with the hotel in advance. We arrived... And it wasn't even finished. A moment that had been carefully planned and paid for was left incomplete. Thankfully, my partner and our children made the proposal incredibly special anyway. But the hotel had been given one job — to have the setup ready — and even that couldn't be done properly. The hotel itself is in a beautiful location with genuinely stunning views, and the food was one of the few things we can praise. There is clearly potential here to be an amazing resort. But beautiful surroundings don't make up for poor hygiene. Good food doesn't make up for poor customer service. And a splash park doesn't make a family resort acceptable when faeces repeatedly ends up on children's play equipment and around the toddler pool. We also encountered some of the most rude and inconsiderate behaviour from fellow guests that we've ever experienced on holiday. While obviously a hotel can't control individual guests, the overall atmosphere certainly wasn't helped by it — and we saw very little from staff to improve the situation. We've stayed in hotels where the staff couldn't do enough for you. Where everything was spotless. Where pools were cleaned thoroughly every night. Where you could see staff taking pride in the resort. This wasn't that hotel. For the money we paid, we expected the basics: ✔️ A clean room ✔️ Clean and properly sanitised children's pools ✔️ Good customer service ✔️ Staff who treat guests with respect ✔️ Family-friendly restaurants ✔️ Facilities that are properly maintained ✔️ A hotel that actually delivers what it advertises We didn't expect perfection. We expected basic standards. And unfortunately, those basic standards were repeatedly missed. Leonardo Laura Beach & Splash Resort — beautiful location, beautiful views, good food. But behind the glossy photographs, our experience was dirty, disappointing and completely lacking in the level of service and hygiene we expected. We came home feeling like we needed a holiday to recover from the holiday. We will absolutely NOT be returning, and based on our experience, we would strongly advise families to think twice before booking.

One more thing - you get one bottle of water in your room for the duration of your stay, we asked for more due to having kids in the room, we were told to refill the bottle we had! We have never had this in other hotels, had numerous bottle given daily.

⭐️ 1/5 — and that's being generous.

Family Holiday

Great family hotel, staff are so friendly and helpful and are really hard working. Good variety of activities/shows/entertainment for the children, including the onsite waterpark. Not far from the hotel and close to local amenities, like the lovely Coral Bay and Harbour. Good variety of food with 5 different restaurants on site. I also visited the hairdresser, I was attending a wedding here and my hair was amazing! Would definitely recommend for families.
