Ignore coeliac do not go here!
We chose it bexasue we were assured that out diary issues - DONOT o not go if you have serious dietary requirements. Such as coeliac - They do not uphold their end of a bargain having asked before booking after booking and just before departing the uk to assurances they will be able to cater - apparently a huge plate of dry meat and some veg is a suitable choice with only one desert option. We expected more
I wrote a complaint and showed the restaurant staff - who behaved like a manager to be told to email it!
The music in the pool side is over loud and consistently the same records over and over for the whole week so far! Poor covers and no change of tempo or choic just loud
The rooms are basic beds hard 3x a adults in two singles and a very narrow sofa bed !
3 times we have had to ask for more toilet paper and shower mats to be delivered
when complaining we’re told to put here as nothing would be done unless it’s on here !
Evening entertainment is poor at best
An Honest Review – Written Whilst We’re Still Here!
This will probably be one of the most honest reviews you’ll read, purely because I’m writing it whilst we’re still here enjoying our holiday!
We came as a family of six, including our 8-month-old baby, and I wanted to give a genuine review of our experience so far.
Food – Better Than Some Reviews Suggest!
Before arriving, I’d read plenty of reviews with people complaining about the food. However, I genuinely believe you get what you pay for, and personally, I think the food has been good!
One of the biggest positives is the variety. There are nine different themed dinner nights, including BBQ & Grill, Asian, Mexican, Cyprus Night and plenty of others.
The Mexican night has easily been our favourite, whilst the Asian night probably wasn’t the best, but that’s personal preference!
Of course, I’ve heard people complaining about the food whilst we’ve been here, but realistically, with that much variety, you’re not going to please everyone.
Something worth mentioning for families with babies is that our 8-month-old has been eating the food here too! We brought plenty of baby food from home just in case, but we’ve barely needed to use it. None of the six of us have had any upset stomachs or issues with the food whatsoever.
The Hotel & Grounds
The hotel itself is actually really nice. From what I understand, it was previously known as the “Ghost Hotel”, so I’m assuming it’s been bought out and is now undergoing redevelopment or improvements.
You can definitely see the potential here. I genuinely believe that in a few years’ time, with continued investment and improvements, this could become one of the best-value hotels in the area.
It’s certainly not perfect, but I think some people forget the price they’ve paid when comparing it with more expensive resorts. And most importantly looks exactly like the photos on the website
Cleaning & Housekeeping
Now, one thing that has been slightly annoying is the cleaners!
They certainly do their jobs, which is obviously a positive, but they can be a little persistent.
We’ve had them knocking on our door at around 8:30 in the morning asking to clean the room. After telling them to come back later, they’ve returned just 15 minutes afterwards!
It’s not a massive problem for us, but I can absolutely understand how this might frustrate people who want a lie-in or a relaxing morning, especially when you’re on holiday.
Drinks & Bars
The beer is actually pretty good! They advertise it as Kappa, but from what I’ve seen, they have KEO (the local Cypriot beer) on the kegs.
There’s also a decent selection of spirits, including Malibu, vodka, white rum, dark rum, as well as white wine and rosé.
For an all-inclusive hotel at this price point, I personally think the drinks selection is perfectly reasonable.
Pergola, Entertainment & Lunch Options
At the back of the complex, there’s a pergola area which is used for evening entertainment.
During the afternoon, it’s also a great spot to grab some lunch, with options including burgers, club sandwiches, pasta and other lighter meals.
It’s a nice alternative to the main restaurant, particularly if you don’t fancy a full buffet lunch.
Swimming Pools & Sunbeds
The pool area is lovely and one of the highlights for us as a family.
One thing we particularly like is the double sunbeds, which are brilliant when you’ve got a little one with you. It makes relaxing around the pool much easier, especially when you’re trying to keep everyone together.
Just be carful of the floor as there has been reports of people slipping, but take it slow and don’t rush about you’re on holiday
Overall – Would I Recommend It?
Absolutely, especially for families looking for an affordable all-inclusive holiday.
Is it a luxury five-star resort? No. But I don’t think it claims to be, and I think that’s where some of the negative reviews are a little unfair.
You’re getting a hotel with good facilities, plenty of food variety, decent drinks, nice swimming pools and entertainment, all for what I consider to be good value for money.
There are definitely areas that could be improved, and I’m not going to pretend everything is perfect. But we’re here as a family of six, including an 8-month-old baby, and we’re genuinely enjoying ourselves.
My biggest advice to anyone considering booking is to come with realistic expectations. Don’t expect five-star luxury if you’re paying for a budget-friendly all-inclusive holiday.
I think this hotel has a lot of potential, and if the improvements continue, I can see it becoming one of the best-value options in the area over the next few years.
And unlike some reviews written weeks after people have returned home, this is coming from someone who’s actually sitting here at the hotel writing it!
Would we come back? Based on our experience so far, yes!
Nice hotel, good location and great staff
Just returned from Toxotis Hotel, Perneras, as 2 couples for 1 week from 13th October. My brother organised this trip and after booking I checked Tripadvisor and wondered how bad this hotel could be from some of the reports. I’m glad to say it was nothing like some people complained about.
The whole site is clean with the pool area washed every morning. Our room was cleaned every day with the floor washed every other day. As for the room we had one that did not face the pool and view not brilliant but we did not stay to sit in the room. Twin beds put together with a pull out single bed. Bathroom with good powerful shower and toiletries (no shower gell).
The location is quieter than the nearby town of Protaras but does have several bars and restaurants with live music and only a 10-15 minute walk to the beach and boardwalk that will take you to Protaras, about 30-35 minutes walk. A regular bus also runs for 2 Euros to town with a stop just across the road from the hotel.
The food was complained about by a few people but we found the food tasty and yes, a little repetitive, but you could usually find something you have not tried before, might be different if we had stayed for 2 weeks.
The pool is a nice size with a separate slide area for the children. At the time we went there were always chairs and parasols available but my guess is that in high season it won’t be as easy. The air temperature was around 24 to 26 degrees but the pool was cold!
Many people say the drinks are watered down, they are not they are straight out of bottles that were sealed. They may not be as strong as they copies of original brands/types. To be honest I was mainly drinking Long Island Ice Teas and I found them OK.
Don’t bother bringing pool towels you can get them from reception for €5 each deposit which you get back when you return the towels, and you can change your towels regularly.
You can also get a hairdryer from reception for €10 deposit
Some items that could be improved upon. The beds are hard, almost like lying on wooden base with a thin sponge cover, we asked for mattress toppers and they were delivered and fitted in very quick time.
Quite a few things need maintaining, the toilet in our room (109) would jam so that it would either continuously run with water or the float would jam up and would never fill. I was constantly lifting the cover and giving the valve and float a tap.
Some sunbeds are broken and several umbrellas do not stay up.
Entertainment is described as low key, it is, which is a shame as there are many talented musicians we saw elsewhere but they come at a cost.
Although the pool area is washed every day it could do with a proper scrub as not all the dirt is lifted with a wash. It can be slippery by the pool as others have said so warn the kids not to run.
Lastly, I would commend all the staff, they were polite, helpful and enjoyed a laugh. I think it is the staff that really make this hotel and are a genuine asset. The animation lady was great and did try hard to get people moving with yoga, belly dancing, water polo, aquarobics etc.
We will most likely return at around the same time of year and would recommend
The Windmill bar a few minutes away has live acts, some better than others, but worth a visit as is The House of Lithos for a more laid back acoustic music.
If you get the opportunity try to see a band No Rules, a 3 piece band we saw a couple of times at The Joker Bar in Protaras. A very talented band who works the audience well.

Amazing holiday
Title: Amazing stay! We are loving the food, cleanliness, and the staff! We highly recommend this hotel! We are still here on our holiday and already know we will definitely be coming back. The biggest highlight is the absolutely perfect and hardworking staff. The chef and waiters are incredibly friendly, and the food is simply delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The rooms are spotlessly clean and thoroughly cleaned every day, making our stay super comfortable. The location is perfect – just a stone's throw away from the beach, right next to the promenade and close to bus stops, making it very easy to get around. Considering the high quality of service, the hotel offers a very attractive price. Greetings to the whole team straight from our holiday! Marta, Amelia, and Bartek (the one without hair) 😊
Fantastic hotel, apart from the receptionists
Just home ftom a very nice first time break in Cyprus. We stayed at the Toxotis hotel, and the review I’m writing is very honest.
Receptionists Not very helpful, not interested in dealing with any query’s. Just pass the buck and tell u to come back later, and hopefully someone else will sort it. One receptionist Niki, seems to be left to deal with all the problems, that the rest can’t be bothered with, she was very helpful, but the rest need replaced. We were on a late night flight from Belfast, and there was no food or water, left for us when we arrived, other late flights from other countries got sandwiches when they arrived, as we saw this.
Bar staff/waiters
Top class ladies and gents. Great service, no issues at all. Went out of there to help u.
Chefs
Food was first class, and very tasty, different themes every night which was great to see. Breakfast delicious, eggs made the way u like them. Something for everyone in the dining area.
All in all
Would I return to the Toxotis, yes I would. Great hotel and comfy rooms. Cleaners first class, room cleaned everyday. Apart from the receptionists, which a lot of people were complying about, it wouldn’t put me off returning.
