We had the best 2 weeks in this beautiful hotel! Our room was lovely, the hotel and staff were incredible! Location is perfect. Very clean and the food was exceptional!! The entertainment team were INCREDIBLE!! Ryan, Lola, Jessie, Analie, Eva, Lambri and Thomas were the best team I’ve ever seen in a hotel! Nothing was ever too much, they paid attention to each guest and made everything perfect! The shows were so well choreographed and thought out! Each person had their own talent and brought it to life! Our daughter loved every second and the bond she made she will forever remember ❤️
The hotel is excellent for families with kids. We would definitely consider going back.
The good: The food was great and different each day. We are a carnivore family (meaning we mostly eat meat, animal fat, and dairy) and each day we had plenty of options to choose from. The staff were kind, smiling, and helpful. The rooms were cleaned regularly, and the whole place was clean. The pools were perfect for kids and adults alike. The beach is small but great—sandy, not pebbly. There are a few rocks in the water, but they don't have sharp edges, making it safe for kids.
I think the best part was the daily entertainment for both kids and adults. There were spoon-diving challenges for kids, pétanque (French boules) and darts competitions for kids, volleyball matches for adults and kids, aqua fitness, and more. Each evening started with a mini-disco, followed by a dance and music show for everyone. Between 15:00 and 17:00, there was an indoor creative activity for kids in an air-conditioned space. The dancers and singers were a group of young men and women from all over Europe, and they were amazingly talented. For me, their evening show was the highlight of each day.
The bad: If you like good coffee like me and you paid for an all-inclusive package, you will be disappointed with the included coffee. It is really bad. They have Jacobs vending machines in the restaurant and at the pool bar that make coffee worse than you would expect from a hotel like this one. There is one espresso machine at the pool bar that makes good coffee, but it comes at an extra charge. They call it "premium coffee," but it is just normal, decent coffee. Since I only drink water and coffee—no soft drinks or juice—this was a disappointment for me. There is a fenced playground on the hotel grounds with a slide and a climbing wall. Unfortunately, it’s located right on the sunny side of the fenced area, even though there is plenty of space and most of the area is shaded in the afternoon. During our stay, there were two days when there was no hot water at all in the afternoon and evening. At the reception, they assumed we just hadn't let the water run long enough for it to get hot.
I have just returned from at week at Althea Beach with my husband and two boys aged 10 and 13. We had a fantastic time at the hotel.
The rooms are air-conditioned, clean and spacious and are cleaned daily. The family pool, where my sons spent most of their time, are large, warm and not too deep. There are plenty of activities and even my sons, who are not keen on kids clubs, joined in with quite a few. The entertainment staff did a fantastic job. They made the activities so appealing that they had a high level of engagement without having to annoy or pressure people to join in.
I have had a problem with my ankle, so before I left, I asked if we could have a ground floor room close to everything. This was sorted out for me which I really appreciated.
The staff work really hard to keep the hotel running smoothly and to ensure it is spotless.
The food is excellent. There is a wide variety of delicious salads, cooked meats, fish, seafood, vegetarian options, and delicious side dishes. Basics for fussy eaters and kids such as tomato pasta, fries and pizza are available daily. The food is a really high standard and we all enjoyed it thoroughly.
The small beach was lovely. My husband and sons went snorkelling and were excited at what they saw, both at the tiny hotel beach and the larger cove 5 minutes walk along the boardwalk.
The resort of Pernera, although small, has quite a few tourist shops and places to eat and drink, as well as easy access to Protaras and Ayia Nappa by bus. There really is everything you could need close to the hotel.
Thank you to all at Althea Beach who worked to hard to make our stay enjoyable. We are all keen to return. A week wasn’t long enough!
We recently stayed for 11 nights in mid June as a couple and had a fantastic, relaxing holiday.
The location of the hotel was ideal. There's a pretty, sandy beach with easy access to the sea literally steps away, while in the other direction, a 5 minute stroll takes you to the heart of Pernera, with a good range of bars and restaurants available.
In the hotel itself, we found our room (Room 122) comfortable and well maintained, with plenty of storage space available, and a wonderful sea view to enjoy.
The outside areas around the pools were kept very clean and the outside toilets were always kept in good order.
One of the highlights of our stay was the quality and variety of food available, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food was always well prepared and presented, and was very tasty indeed - possibly the best All Inclusive food offering we've ever had. Meanwhile, the friendly staff in the dining areas were always quick to serve and take drinks orders and were a pleasure to deal with.
The bar staff were also a credit to the hotel, serving up tasty cocktails and juices without ever leaving anyone waiting to be served for too long.
Ryan and the talented team of animators kept things ticking over nicely through the day with a range of activities, before performing the genuinely entertaining evening shows. They, along with the other hotel staff really do give the hotel a properly welcoming and friendly vibe.
Overall, a brilliant stay in a hotel we would highly recommend. Thanks Louis Althea Beach!
Had a lovely relaxing holiday made perfect by the hard working super friendly animation team. Ryan, Lola, Jessie, Annali and Tommy and the rest of the team work really hard to ensure you have a great holiday. We had a late departure so I booked a courtesy room slot as I was not willing to add another €80 to my holiday. The courtesy room is the showers in the gym which don’t work properly and there is zero privacy as the gym users will walk in to use the toilet come on Louis Althea sort some proper rooms out so your guests can at least go home with their dignity still intact We went on the Mr John’s trip to Varosha and Famagusta I would definitely recommend it as he has experienced it personally 52 years later he’s still mad as hell Protaras which is a 10 minute €2 bus ride (101/102 bus) away is great get off the bus at the top and walk the whole strip there’s loads of bars and eateries to choose from
