Leonardo hotel has an excellent location. However, it fell short of expectations in every other aspect.
One reception staff was very friendly and helpful, however at check-out, we spoke to another member of staff. We had an issue with a double payment. We were told 'It's fine' more than once, however one payment fulfilled, and a duplicate 'pending', which meant an extra £500 is still being held outside of our account and unavailable to us on our holiday. We had to push firmly several times for this to be understood and to make sure the pending payment would be cancelled - with no apology.
The room was big but in disrepair. The bedsheets had holes in it, the couch had a big stain, the footstool had a stain on it. The floor outside the bathroom had clearly been flooded, and was peeling up.
The toilet brush was disgusting, and had another guest's faeces still on it. The toilet itself sprayed water on the floor when flushing, even with the lid completely down. Both extremely unhygienic.
Breakfast was okay, but really not a great selection compared to similar hotels/price/* rating. Often a few empty dishes, not refilled. There was no staff to greet you at breakfast, or make sure there was a table. One morning we left without eating, as there was no free tables, and nobody to ask how long it might be.
The Executive Lounge had a limited selection of snacks. It was okay, but the tea in the lounge was never replaced after day one. Nobody to ask as it is self-service.
The swimming pool and roof area is basically useless. It had maybe 2-3 deckchairs available for the entirety of the hotel.
The gym cardio equipment was fine. However, the weight equipment was very rusty. The barbell was rusted, and bent, and unsafe for use.
The hotel is in a prime, very central location, very close to the sea and the promenade. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and the staff is welcoming and attentive. Breakfast is very good. The pool is small—designed for sitting rather than swimming—and parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are staying for several consecutive days, parking arrangements can be made nearby, though you may need to insist on it. We stayed for four nights; my only criticism is that the in-room coffee wasn't replenished—though perhaps I should have asked for it. Overall, an excellent hotel.
Sadly we didn't feel that this hotel matched its website description. Our room was OK but certainly not 'sublime' as described on the site and we had to ask for the bathrobes and slippers which should have been automatically supplied. A gentleman on reception was very helpful with a booking problem when we checked in and continued to help throughout our stay. Generally, though, we thought the staff, although very well-meaning, didn't seem very professional. The pool is really just a small plunge pool. The location is quite central, a couple of blocks back from the sea and a short walk to Larnaca castle.
Quiet and good location that is walkable to popular attractions with responsive staff.
For the attention of Mr. Roni Aloni and Mr. Asaf Fattal... We are two couples who stayed at the Leonardo Boutique Hotel in Larnaca for two nights in October. We made our reservation directly through the hotel’s website three months in advance and requested a room on a high floor. I also reached out to the hotel via their website to inquire about parking arrangements, but received no response whatsoever. Upon arrival, the treatment we received from the hotel staff in every aspect was dismissive and indifferent. Most of our requests were simply met with a "no." The Guest Relations Manager was the only person who made an effort to address our needs. We were greeted by a receptionist who was insolent, dishonest, and untrustworthy for my POV. He showed no intention of helping with parking, assisting with our luggage, or providing a room on a high floor within the category we had booked, (even though such rooms were available). The Spa Manager, a sour-faced woman, responded to every inquiry with insolence. The breakfast was more in line with a 3-star hotel than the 4-star rating the hotel claims. The hotel itself looks wonderful, our room was very pleasant, and the in-room amenities were adequate. The property clearly has great potential, but it completely lacks a service-oriented mindset. What a shame! P.S. During that same trip to Cyprus, we stayed at two other hotels in the chain: Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris in Paphos and Leonardo NYX in Limassol.
