I chose the Chrysomare Beach Hotel & Resort in Ayia Napa after reading so many positive reviews, expecting a relaxing family holiday. Unfortunately, our experience has been extremely disappointing.
We are travelling with two children, an 11-month-old baby and a 7-year-old. My sister and her husband are also here with their baby, along with friends travelling with their baby and my mother. We booked four rooms in total, so this was a family holiday involving several young children.
Our disappointment started at reception. After a long journey, I politely asked whether it might be possible to access our rooms a little earlier because we were travelling with babies. The receptionist interrupted me before I could even finish my question and bluntly stated that the rooms were being cleaned and would only be available at 3 pm. I understand that rooms need to be prepared, but the lack of courtesy and empathy was shocking. At the very least, I would have expected some understanding or an offer of a quiet, comfortable place where the babies could rest while we waited.
Things got worse when we tried to put the children to bed early. Our room was located directly above the main entertainment area, and the music was extremely loud, making it almost impossible to sleep. We requested a room change, and although the staff agreed, the alternative rooms they initially offered were still very close to the music area and would not have solved the problem.
Fortunately, a member of the customer relations team eventually helped us find a more suitable room. The first night was manageable, so we decided to stay. However, on our second night, we were again unable to get the rest we needed because children were playing football loudly right below our room. Once again, falling asleep was practically impossible.
The pools are nice, the weather is lovely, and the food is average. However, these positives cannot compensate for the lack of consideration for guests who come here to relax, especially families with babies and young children.
A family-friendly hotel should offer more than pools and facilities. It should also provide a peaceful environment, considerate service, and a genuine willingness to help when guests have reasonable concerns. Unfortunately, this was not our experience.
Based on our stay, I would not recommend this hotel to families looking for a relaxing holiday, peaceful nights, and genuinely customer-focused service. I expected much more from a hotel with such positive reviews.
Disappointing experience on our second stay, noticeable decline in quality and service.
This was our second time staying at Chrysomare Beach Hotel and Resort in Ayia Napa. We visited two years ago and had a very different impression of the hotel. Unfortunately, during this stay, we noticed a significant decline in the quality of service and the professionalism of some members of staff. I would especially like the management to pay attention to the following issues.
- Reception – checkout experience.
On the day of checkout, at around 10:30, receptionist Vanessa insisted that we cut off our all-inclusive bracelets. At the same time, we were told that we could remain at the hotel and continue using its facilities. This was confusing. How are guests supposed to use the facilities, especially the bars and all-inclusive services, without their bracelets? What exactly are guests entitled to use after checkout? We have stayed in many all-inclusive hotels in Cyprus and abroad and this was the first time we experienced such a situation and rude behaviour of receptionist Vanessa.
- Restaurant staff – breakfast experience
Breakfast was officially until 10:00. However, if you were still sitting at 10:05, staff would approach you two or three times, making it very clear that you had to leave immediately, even when you still had food on your plate. I understand that restaurants have schedules and that staff need time to prepare for the next service. However, the way this was handled felt rude, uncomfortable and far from customer-friendly. Hospitality should also mean treating guests with courtesy and respect, rather than making them feel rushed and unwelcome. Unfortunately, these experiences affected our mood and enjoyment of the holiday. I am sharing this feedback directly for the attention of the hotel management because we genuinely believe that a hotel can improve when guests speak honestly about their experiences. The difference compared with our previous visit was disappointing. If this standard of service continues, we will certainly think twice before returning, and I believe other guests may feel the same way. We hope management takes this feedback seriously and reviews both the guest checkout policy and the way guests are treated by restaurant staff. A beautiful holiday destination deserves service that matches its potential.
A little slice of Paradise, 10/10 from me.
A very enjoyable 10 days was spent here for some winter sun. I have nothing to say but good good good. I enjoyed every bit of it. The food was exceptional, the staff were brilliant, the facilities including the Spa were top notch, It was spotless clean, the pools were pristine, plenty of sunbeds, although we did most of the time on the beach which was right next to us, and a beautiful little cove surrounded the beach. a truly stunning location and hotel, Its a 10/10 from me.

10/10 hotel
We stayed at the hotel from the 14th october until 21st. The resort is very big, on the first day i felt like it was a gigant mase. The rooms, hotel and the areas around the pools are super clean. The food was good, diverse and fresh - breakfast was the same everyday but it did not bother us since there was a large variety to choose from (there were boiled and fried eggs and omlette, baked beans, rice with milk, 4 types of yogurt, all sorts of seeds, fruits, grilled vegetables, sausages boiled or fried, salads, vegetables, cheeses - etc. Lunch and dinner were never the same - we had all types of meets (beef, pork, chicken, fish and seafood) - plenty to choose for everyone. The bar opened from 10 Am until 18:00 and if you want to drink after this hour you can at the lobby bar or the terase bar. There are 3 pools for adults and one for children with slides. Plenty of sunbeds. There are 2 bars that serve the outside area. There is also a play room for the children where they can have face paintings and disco hour. We had a sea view room and its eorth paying the extra for it. Staff very friendly and helpful with everything you need. If you check in late and don’t have time for dinner you will receive a bag with sandwich, fruits and water. There are a lot of supermarkets around the hotel în case you forget some things at home and actually the prices are decent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a relaxed holiday
