After a two year break we return to what was once “our place”. We gave it a break as after about 8 previous visits the changes were not for the best. Let’s start with the positives…
We still love the hotel, The staff are great and always have been but there are stand out staff and they need to be named.
Yiannis, always a smile and a conversation to be had. Sacha, again always a smile and polite conversation and always attentive. Hazel. Well she’s just lovely. Lefteris. Always the busiest man at the pool bar. Ram, the barman in the lobby. Again always willing to please. We were blessed to have “Rosanna” sing in the reception bar one of the nights we stayed. You could say her singing talents are wasted in such a small confined place but better to have her singing talents than not at all. Lots of good staff have moved on. Shame. They were a big part of the hotels vibe and are missed.
Feel sad naming the negatives but here goes….
Lack of Piano bar. Was a great place in the last only to be changed to a restaurant that doesn’t seem to ever run to its max. Half could have been used , keeping an evening bar. The swim up pools replaced a roof garden. In our 10 nights there I think we saw maybe 10 people use them. Again. Seems a waste of money and could have better been directed.
Another of the integral restaurants also gone and taken over. Very attentive people, bit pricey, very empty. And last but not least the influx of clientele. How disappointing it was to see rude, ignorant and dirty people (customers) happy to make a mess and walk away as if they’ve a right to be pigs. Most days around the pool the mess left and the ignorance of these people was disappointing even after many times approached by the pool attendant they ignored his plea for tidiness and manners. Seems to be the new money to the hotel and not a good influx. (All from a neighbouring country) .
Are we likely to go again??? Maybe as there’s still a reason to go but the reason is shrinking. Please owners of the hotel. Ask us what we want. It’s not the great Hotel it once was. 😔
Very nice atmosphere, and the room was very clear. The breakfast also was very rich and very nice
