Tirena is a must!
Lunch at poolside Oliva was always delightful! Service amazing and food delicious. Josip always looked after us and even found my husband’s lost hat! Food at main restaurant was fantastic too and Magda always looked after us well. Try the house wine which was a great accompaniment to our dinner. Indeed the staff make this hotel amazing! Would highly recommend. The cleanliness of our rooms and the shared areas were always impeccable. Modern and relaxing. The bar for a pre or post dinner cocktail was impressive. Enjoyed some live music also. Maro world for our son was a great draw with its gaming section when he could be dragged away poolside from the water slides. Overall a great hotel, not far from the Old Town by bus (no 6) as well as lovely walks around Babin Kuk watching sunsets and taking in local olive groves and the blue sea.

Great for children, but some improvements needed
This is a good family-friendly hotel in a beautiful location, although there are some areas that could be improved.
Our biggest issue was breakfast, which was busy and chaotic. Despite an excellent selection of hot and cold food, finding a free table was a daily struggle. Carrying a small child around looking for somewhere to sit was a bit stressful, and there seemed to be no staff managing tables or helping families find seats.
Maro World is a fantastic children's play area with a great variety of activities. The kids' club staff were lovely, and the weekend kids' disco featuring Maro the Crab was great fun. However, Maro World really needs a small café or somewhere for parents to grab a coffee.
Our bedroom had beautiful mountain views, and a small child-sized bed was available. Be aware that live music in the bar can be heard from the rooms at night.
The dinner buffet had plenty of choice, and there are some excellent restaurants nearby.
Overall, a good hotel for families, particularly because of the children's facilities, but a few improvements would make the experience much better.

Amazing hotel
Amazing hotel, great staff, great for kids also, the Maro world is every kids dream!
A pleasant stay, but felt quieter due to off season
We travelled as a family of 4 with 2 kids aged 6 and 10 as well as grandparents. Our trip was in the middle of October and began with a weekend of heavy rain before drying up. Despite the rain there was still a lot to do with the kids across Maro world and having access to the sister hotels indoor pool. The hotel is lovely with very friendly and helpful staff members, although for an October trip it did feel quiet and lacked atmosphere in the evenings.
Pros Great staff Maro world ideal for kids Clean and modern Beds comfy and plenty of space in the rooms for luggage and clothing Pool areas were nice, a bit cold as in October but we could use an indoor pool. No issues getting a sunlounger but hotel was quieter Towels provided and could exchanfe whenever you wanted Buffet breaksfast was good and general evening buffet was good too. Easy to access Dubrovinik either by bus or Uber, ranging from 10-16 euros The beach down the hill is nice albeit pebbly so bring water shoes.
Cons Drinks at the bar on the pricier side. €6.30 a beer, €10- €13 a cocktail. €4.75 a soft drink. Fine for a couple of nights but did add up after a week Lunchtime options pricier particularly in surrounding area. This is not controlled by the hotel but worth considering if staying for a week or more. E.g €16 for 12 inch pepperoni pizza. We shared 2 pizzas, 2 fried, 2 softdrinks, a beer and a glass of wine and it came to €72. Again fine if a short stay but added up over the week. Similar story for local minimart. Pricier The area has a lot of hills and stairs so if there are mobility issues this may not be the best location. My father in law struggles with steps and long distances and he found it challenging October felt quiet with a lot of the beach bars closed and general beach area felt a little unkempt. Quite a bit of litter. Again a lot of these cons are not under the hotels control but when considering a week long holiday the surrounding area is part of the trip.
Overall great stay despite the additional costs being higher than expected. If looking for a cheaper break when it comes to food and drink then maybe not consider Dubrovinik.
5* would stay again
Such a lovely hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was 5*. Being able to use the other hotels facilities were great too. When we said we had a late flight on our day of checkout they let us check out later free of charge! Beach also only under 5 minutes walk from hotel!
