Guests can enjoy a stay in a comfortable, stylish room with balcony. In-room amenities include air-conditioning, safe, LCD TV, minibar and bathroom with hairdryer. Guests can relax in the wellness zone or by the fantastic outdoor infinity pools with a view of the sea and nearby islands. Diving and water sports centres are located just 250 m from the hotel. Guests can spend their days in active recreation and return for rest and entertainment to the hotel.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This was a nice hotel, the views from the terrace were amazing and beautiful sunsets, the rooms were good and very comfortable beds, there are some lovely walks out the back of the hotel along the coast. Sunbeds always easy to get just not the most comfortable, towels supplied at the pool side, two nice pools and a small child's one, very few children at the hotel. We went HB, breakfast was very good and evening meals were OK usual buffet style to cater for all tastes, would be nice if water was available without having to pay for it (only available at breakfast for free). As mentioned before very easy to get around the area the bus stop is about 100m from the front of the hotel the No.6 brings you straight to old town in about 10/15 mins, tickets available in the hotel shop or if you have dubrovnik pass, show it on the bus and the driver will print you a seven day pass. Overall lovely hotel and would recommend it.
Hotel Review: Recent Stay at Valamar Argosy Hotel
We selected this hotel specifically for its advertised adults-only policy, seeking a quiet and restful holiday. While the property has notable strengths, the failure to uphold its adults-only branding and its dog-friendly policy significantly undermined our experience.
Positive Aspects The location is excellent, offering impressive views over the bay that were a highlight of the stay.
Staff service was consistently outstanding. The team was professional, attentive, and went out of their way to assist guests.
The food was excellent, with breakfast and evening buffets ranking among the best we have experienced — surpassing many 5-star options.
Rooms were clean and well-maintained, though somewhat compact.
Significant Concerns Despite clear advertising and our booking through American Express as an adults-only resort, the hotel is not adults-only in practice. We observed families with toddlers and teenagers present, which directly contradicted our expectations and the hotel’s stated brand. This misrepresentation was particularly frustrating, as it introduced noise and disruption — including screaming toddlers and groups of teens — that prevented the peaceful environment we had paid for.
Additionally, the hotel’s dog-friendly policy (allowing dogs in any room) proved problematic. We were placed next to barking dogs and stayed in a room that had recently accommodated a dog, which was unpleasant.
These issues created a substantial mismatch between the advertised “adults-only” experience and reality. The hotel must clearly define and consistently enforce its brand — either as adults-only or family-friendly — to avoid misleading guests and placing unnecessary strain on its otherwise excellent staff.
Overall Assessment This property benefits from superb food, exceptional staff, and a prime location with beautiful views. However, the failure to deliver a genuine adults-only environment, combined with the dog-friendly policy, strongly detracted from our stay and left us disappointed with what should have been a relaxing break.
We would not recommend this hotel to those specifically seeking an adults-only resort. Guests open to a mixed family and pet environment may find the positives outweigh the drawbacks, but confirmation of current policies is strongly advised before booking.
Beautiful hotel, clean and airy, lots of space. The superior room was decent enough, pretty standard but there are plenty of nice spots around the hotel to park up for a while.
Pools were great, amazing choice of breakfast types and very generous. Nice touches like live honeycombs in the jam section.
My partner had a massage from Elizabeth and loved it, great experience.
Not having water fountains is a weird ommision for a hotel of this standard. There’s a mini mall nearby where you can buy big bottles for the room but… why? 😄
An unexpected highlight was the guy leading aqua aerobics in one of the pools, very funny and a good mini workout.
We were really pleased with our stay, the rooms are clean and staff very friendly. Easy transport into the Old Town via bus which is just outside the hotel. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly which we enjoyed. We booked B&B as we like to explore the restaurants in the area but you can book the hotel buffet for €35pp. We also found the local restaurants good value for money and the food very good. To sum up the hotel and area we stayed was very good and will look forward to visiting Croatia again in the future.
Excellent experience all around. Hotel has fantastic views of the coastline. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The pool areas are well stocked with beds and parasols and use of the Spa is included in the price. Breakfast and evening meal buffet was excellent with huge choice on offer. Would definitely come again and I would highly recommend the hotel as a place to stay and the area as a whole as a destination
