Views, views, views!
Rixos was a hotel that I had high expectations of. The hotel looked amazing on the website and yes Rixos lived up to that. The check in staff were fantastic as were our room cleaning staff. The views phenomenal and everything said perfection, but our king size bed (2 twins pushed together) were uneven, so one side was much higher than the other, the underlay and sheets did not fit the king sized bed- uncomfortable to say the least. The shower drainage not great. There was plenty of sun beds to choose from by the pool or ocean . But if you were in the front row of beds by the ocean , you had to put up with young males, who did not belong to the hotel (we watched them swim across from another area) spit on the ground and block others from jumping into the ocean. Thankfully this was resolved the next day. It was fun to watch people build up the courage to jump and come back to do this again. At times the music became too loud around the sun bed area, but again this was dealt with by staff the next day. The food was great and the hotel is just a 20 minute walk to the Old City. There were so many aspects of the hotel that were impressive, just some minor adjustments will make it 5 star

Beautiful location, but nowhere near a five-star experience
We recently stayed at the Rixos Premium Dubrovnik, and while our stay was perfectly fine overall, I left wondering how this hotel is classified as a five-star property.
The location is beautiful, the views over the Adriatic are stunning, and the hotel has good amenities. However, a hotel marketing itself as five-star should consistently deliver exceptional service, maintenance, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, that wasn’t our experience.
Service was consistently adequate, but rarely exceptional. We arrived before check-in and were told our room would be ready as soon as possible. We waited in the lobby bar for an hour and a half, only to receive our room at 4:30 p.m.—30 minutes after the hotel’s guaranteed check-in time. There was very little communication or apology.
The same pattern continued throughout our stay. At the pool restaurant, service was almost nonexistent. After finishing our meal, staff disappeared completely, leaving us waiting nearly 30 minutes just to pay our bill.
The pool itself is lovely, but there were no attendants managing the loungers. Guests reserved chairs for the entire day, making it difficult to find seating even though many loungers sat empty for hours.
Our biggest disappointment was the room itself. The fit and finish were simply not what you expect from a luxury hotel. There was sloppy caulking, poor construction detailing, rust around door frames and bathroom fixtures, worn finishes, stained grout, chipped mirrors, and housekeeping that left much to be desired. I’ve attached photos because they tell the story better than words. Frankly, many of these issues wouldn’t be acceptable in any well-maintained hotel, let alone one advertising itself as five-star.
The hotel has many positives, and we still enjoyed our stay. However, luxury hotels are defined by exceptional service, meticulous maintenance, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this property consistently fell short in all three areas.
I don’t regret staying here, but I also wouldn’t return. If you’re looking for a true five-star experience, I would recommend considering other options.

Our stay at Rixos Premium Dubrovnik was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The hotel combines luxury, comfort, and breathtaking Adriatic views in a way that truly makes it unforgettable. The location is perfect—close enough to walk to Dubrovnik's beautiful Old Town while still offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, immaculate, and beautifully designed, with stunning sea views that made every morning special. The breakfast was outstanding, offering an incredible variety of fresh, high-quality food with spectacular views over the coastline. What really made our stay stand out was the exceptional service. Every member of the staff was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The spa and wellness facilities were first-class, providing the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the city. From the luxurious amenities to the outstanding hospitality, every detail exceeded our expectations. We left with wonderful memories and cannot wait to return. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Rixos Premium Dubrovnik to anyone looking for a five-star experience in one of the world's most beautiful destinations.
