Croatia Trip - Dubrovnik
Whilst it is located 3kms away from old town, it is well connected by buses...the rooms are small and very far away...we had to take 3 separate lifts to reach our room... disappointed... What you see in the photos is not what you get...avoidable
Good 4 star hotel in great location
Great 4 star hotel for both location and staff.... the whole team there were great and really looked after us during our stay.
Breakfast was plentiful and the choice was excellent to fill all guests needs... my only gripe is the lack of decaf coffee and tea and the need to chase staff to get it for you... very minor but worthy of note.
We stayed in two rooms - 14 and 33 - both were very good. Both had decent TV's with Netflix access if you wanted to watch films etc.... they also had the usual Sky and BBC news channels.
Beds were comfortable with AC working well... only gripe is that they are starting to look a bit tired and frayed around the edges with the need for an update. Towels provided also need looking at as they were very thin and looked as though they need replacing sooner than later.
Bar area and restaurant were good. The restaurant was nice and airy with plenty of room between tables. There is a snack menu in the bar which lasts most of the day until 22:00 if you need a snack/meal.
Location is great with good views of the harbour - bus runs outside to get into Dubrovnik old town but we used Uber quite a bit which were much more reasonable that local taxis....
Would highly recommend this hotel if going to Dubrovnik.
Nice but dated
Hotel is fine. Beautiful building and facilities. Really nice indeed. Location is gods, in front of the marina, but far from old town Dubrovnik. Rooms are on the smaller side and certainly dated. It is a good hotel, but it needs an update.
Nice hotel but needs a couple of tweaks
The hotel itself is lovely, very clean. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choice. The evening meal buffet was good. Nice choice each evening with something different every evening. Couple of issues we found. When going down for your evening meal the lighting in the restaurant is too bright which then gives the room a look of a canteen/cafe rather than a relaxing space to sit and enjoy a meal. Would be good to sit the lights dimmed or have little lights on each table. There was a real shortage of staff which meant we went without a drink on two evenings during our meal and our plates, as well as many other tables, were stacked up on the tables uncollected. We had to stack them to one side to be able to make room. The bar area was also very cold which meant we didn’t want to spend time there. This was rectified later in the week. People were sat in coats.
Good choice for short city break
Spent 3 nights here following an Adriatic cruise. We had standard room on the 5th floor in the annex which was very comfortable and spacious with fridge, safe , kettle etc. Unexpectedly we also had a lovely side sea view. Breakfast was fine with the usual offerings (B&B only). Location was excellent for the old town, as we were only there for a couple of days we used Ubers which were plentiful and inexpensive (10E to the old town). It was just a 10 minute walk (slightly uphill) to the many restaurants at sunset beach where we ate in the evenings. Pleasant pool area but we didn’t get chance to use it. Good choice for a short stay in Dubrovnik.
