Quietly situated in the picturesque Lapad Bay and overlooking the azure Adriatic Sea, this luxurious hotel enjoys one of the best positions in Dubrovnik. The city centre with its historical and cultural sights is less than 4 km away and three bus routes take guests within a 10-minute ride to the old town. The airport is at 23 km from the hotel. All guest rooms have modern amenities for a pleasant stay, and most of them include a balcony with stunning sea views. Guests might enjoy the varied dining offer at the hotel, which includes a restaurant and a lounge bar, apart from two chic bars where guests can admire the breath-taking views with a cocktail or a glass of fine wine. Guests can also relax at a wonderful wellness and spa centre with an indoor and an outdoor pool.
Myself and my family have just returned from a wonderful 10-day holiday at Hotel Kompas, and we had an absolutely fantastic stay.
From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel incredibly welcome. A very special thank you goes to Ivan from the breakfast team, who was truly exceptional. Every morning he greeted us with such genuine warmth, friendliness and professionalism that breakfast became one of the highlights of our day. He has a wonderful way of making every guest feel valued, and he made our family feel as though we were sitting around his own family table. His kindness, attention to detail and sincere hospitality made our stay even more special, and he is a real credit to Hotel Kompas.
Our Deluxe Sea View room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean, with truly breathtaking views across Lapad Bay. Waking up to that view each morning was unforgettable.
The breakfast was varied, fresh and plentiful, with something to suit every taste. While I found the à la carte menu a little limited, every meal we had was of a very high standard and beautifully prepared.
The swimming pool was lovely, with plenty of comfortable loungers, making it a perfect place to relax. The hotel's location is also ideal—right on the promenade with easy access to the beach, restaurants and bars, while still being peaceful and only a short journey from Dubrovnik's beautiful Old Town.
Overall, Hotel Kompas exceeded our expectations and played a huge part in making our holiday so memorable. The beautiful hotel, stunning location and outstanding staff created an experience we will always remember. We would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Kompas and very much hope to return in the future.
Thank you to Ivan and everyone at Hotel Kompas for making our holiday so wonderful.
Wow absolutely superb staff are brilliant and food has been wonderful thank you
We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Kompas. The rooms were clean with fantastic housekeepers coming in daily - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast buffet was excellent - with a nver ending stream of coffee available. The pool was great - clean and good sunbeds, with a great pool bar who had no issues filling up our water bottles with tap water! Location also perfect - on the doorstep of lots of bars, shops and restaurants to the left and to the right is the promenade - follow that round to a big hotel complex that has more bars and restaurants and is a lovely walk to boot - esp at sunset!! Approx 10-11 Euro each way to the old town via Uber. Overall would highly recommend Hotel Kompas.
Amazing stay. The hotel is perfectly located by the sea and close to restaurants. The staff was so efficient and friendly. The pool was clean, lots of deck chairs available. Highly recommended
This hotel has a great vibe, very relaxed and chilled. Easy for sea, promenade, uber, bus with lovely surrounding area and coastal walk. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the staff in the restaurant, pool, beach area and housekeeping were friendly and so accommodating. They made our stay! Rooms were lovely and view across the sea was fantastic. What stopped this being a 5 star review?! Firstly, reception staff always seemed aloof and far less friendly. On our last day as we gathered our cases and left to get on the bus, along with several others, not one of them looked up or wished us a safe trip. Such a contrast to other staff we encountered. For the cost and luxury of this hotel I would have also expected a welcome drink which was sadly missing. Pillows were uncomfortable but I accept we could have asked to change them. Chairs on balcony were also really uncomfortable and could do with something more relaxing. The final issue was due to our flight leaving late we were advised they could not accommodate late checkout which I totally understand. However we were told they would accommodate us with facilities so spent day at the beach. We arrived back to be directed to the spa area which had a small corridor to get changed in with a shower and toilet which had no light and was in darkness. Communal showers were available in spa area but nowhere to put clothes or get changed without them getting wet. Customers using the spa were coming in and out of the tiny communal changing area along with another 6-7 of us who had been promised an area we could change. I understand this is at discretion of hotel but when forced to open up suitcases in middle of corridor to main swim area as everyone troops by and watches you drag out a change of clothes really did ruin the relaxed feeling as we left the hotel scruffy and harassed. Other hotels have managed to accommodate late checkouts by allocating set times to access a room or changing area. Such a shame this, along with reception staff attitude, was our last memories of our holiday. I do recommend this hotel but to charge the prices they do I think they need to rethink some of their offer.
