The location is excellent, very easy to get around. The decor also very impressive. Breakfast options very good and my daughter enjoyed cooling down in the hotel pool.
Service, for us, was a bit mixed. It started very strongly but it is obvious, particularly at breakfast time that certain nationalities receive more attention. Either because they are more demanding naturally and so staff pay more attention or they tip more?
Room cleaning was good apart from one day when we came back to the room and the tip had been taken but the room had not been cleaned. Maybe someone other than the cleaner took the tip and she didn’t then make it back to the room to clean before we came back.
Beach towels are readily available, you simply need to ask at reception.
We had a 3rd bed added to the room, in my opinion it was too a little too small for the age (which we’d given on booking) so a little disappointing.
Spent 3 days at this hotel, starting with the pros. You really can’t beat this location, it’s about a 2 minute walk to Old town (pile gate). We really appreciated this during the heat wave when it was just too hot to stay outside. We were able to do an activity and then go back to rest at the hotel since it was so close.
The room we had was very large for European standards which I really enjoyed. The view from room 228 overlooked the roof of the next building. From the corners you could see the city walls and the ocean in the distance but your immediate view was the roof, not ideal. Other things I noticed about the room, it did have a few scuffs on the floors and walls. Could use some TLC. The other issue I had about the room was that even setting it at the coldest 17c it would not go lower than 19c (at best) brought this to the hotels attention and they said that was purposeful.
I’d give the service a 3 out of 5. The staff members I directly spoke to at the front desk were fine. But we walked past the front desk several times and most of the time there was no one manning the desk or the doors. The times I did see someone at the desk, no greeting or acknowledgement while passing. One specific incident I wasn’t a fan of was when we asked the bar for some hot water. While he ultimately gave us the hot water he had made a comment that it’s available in the room with the kettle. He should’ve been mindful that some people do not prefer to use the kettle in the room especially with the horror stories posted on social media at other hotels.
Overall, I’d give this hotel a 3.8/5 (4 stars since I can’t deduct). While the location is absolutely perfect, at $600 a night the service was lacking in addition to the issues with the room.
A perfect stay in Dubrovnik—highly recommended...
Staying at the Hilton in Dubrovnik was a truly excellent experience. The hotel boasts a fantastic location right at the entrance to the Old Town, making it perfect for exploring the city while still offering a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are spotless, spacious, and comfortable, and the entire hotel exudes elegance and quality. The staff are exceptionally friendly and always ready to help, which really enhances the overall experience. The breakfast is varied and high-quality, with plenty of options to suit everyone, and the spa and pool are perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. This hotel is the perfect location for touring the city by foot. The hotel has great service! I messed up our reservation by booking 3 people in one room instead of 3 rooms with couples they said no problem and quickly had rooms for us. The bar has delicious drinks with lots of ice! The rooms were beautiful and roomy .Amaziing breakfast but best of all was the service! Quick and thinking ahead to accommodate any help or service we might need. We will definitely stay there again! Best Hilton yet!!!
Stayed here for 5 nights in one of the deluxe King rooms after a small upgrade due to Diamond Status - the welcome on check in was friendly and swift and the room was lovely and clean, spacious with a turn down service on a evening. The hotel is spotless and nothing was out of place. We used the Exec lounge every day for evening drinks which is from 5-7pm. The staff here replenished things quickly and were extremely helpful and friendly. Soft and hot drinks are available throughout the day which was also ideal after a hot day trip out. Breakfast was plentiful and never busy which surprised me as the hotel was full. Everything was fresh and topped up quickly. I would have like to see Greek Yogurt as a choice but that didn’t ruin me enjoying other choices. The consistency of service did drop on our 3rd to 5th day though. Seemed once they knew your face we were expected to remember what was on extra menu for eggs, pancakes etc. the menu was only offered on two of the mornings. Really enjoyed our stay here and would happily stay here again.
