Dubrovnik Palace

We expected a 5 star experience but sadly, overall, a disappointing stay. Two conferences taking place during our 4 night stay which made the hotel feel corporate. Pre-dinner drinks in the bar were disrupted by staff setting up for a conference (bright lights turned on and noisy) which ruined the ambiance. Conference guests partying in the balcony above us woke us up at 3am. Some staff were pleasant (housekeeping especially) but some were very rude and indifferent with a bad attitude (especially the chef preparing my omelette). Almond milk latte was cold every morning and the breakfast offering for gluten free vegetarians was poor. We were grateful for the upgrade and birthday cake (thank you) however the room was small and cold with very limited storage space. Top tip - the hotel is probably better as a summer resort not the place for an autumn getaway as conference season has begun and seemingly takes over the hotel

If one is visiting Dubrovnik, then its worth staying in this hotel. The hotel is beautiful, has panoramic view of the Adriatic sea. Its literally on the sea. All rooms are facing the sea. Has very nice Spa, with several jacuzzies, swimming pools etc. Good breakfast. but bare in mind that it will be difficult to swim in the sea, as its very rocky. So even stair into the water do not help much. Otherwise everything else was excellent.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dubrovnik Palace. Of all the hotels we’ve experienced during our travels, this has been one of the most memorable, and the level of hospitality has been nothing short of exceptional.

Before arriving, I contacted the hotel to express concerns about air conditioning after a particularly uncomfortable experience at another property in Split, where cooling was restricted. I was worried about encountering the same issue in Dubrovnik, especially because having a cool, comfortable room is incredibly important to getting a good night’s sleep.

What happened when we arrived completely exceeded my expectations.

To our surprise, we were given a complimentary upgrade to the Perunika Ambassador Suite, located in the hotel’s exclusive VIP wing, which contains just four suites. We learned from the staff that this private section has even accommodated Croatia’s Prime Minister! The wing has its own private entrance and an independent climate-control system, making the experience feel exceptionally private and special.

Most importantly, the air conditioning worked beautifully, cooling our suite to a wonderfully comfortable 19°C. After our previous hotel experience, I cannot overstate how much this meant to us. I finally enjoyed an incredibly restful night’s sleep.

What impressed me most wasn’t simply the luxury of the accommodation, although that was certainly extraordinary. It was the feeling that our concerns had genuinely been heard and taken seriously. Whether the upgrade was connected to my earlier message or simply a generous gesture, the result was an experience that made us feel incredibly welcomed and cared for.

There is a meaningful difference between a hotel that offers beautiful accommodations and one that truly understands hospitality. Dubrovnik Palace has demonstrated what an exceptional guest experience can look like.

We booked directly with the hotel, had no expectation of an upgrade, and arrived simply hoping for a comfortable stay. Instead, we were treated to something truly unforgettable.

Dubrovnik Palace has set an extraordinarily high standard for our future hotel stays. We are deeply grateful for the generosity, thoughtfulness, and wonderful hospitality. This is exactly the kind of experience that makes you want to return to a property again and again.
