A truly pleasurable stay @ the Cornaro! Location along with comfort was 5 star!
highly disappointed.
We had a really disappointing experience here. Before going to the pool, we specifically asked the receptionist if we were allowed to use it and order food and drinks. She told us that we could, so we went through and settled down.
A little while later, when we asked for a menu, a member of staff told us that we weren’t actually allowed to use the pool because we weren’t hotel guests. He called reception and then came back saying that the receptionist had never told us we could use the pool. This was simply untrue—we had specifically asked before going through, and she clearly told us we were allowed.
We completely understand if the hotel’s policy is that only guests can use the pool. Our issue isn’t the policy itself; it’s that we were given permission by reception and then made to feel as though we had misunderstood or made it up.
We were told we were still welcome to stay for food and drinks, but by that point the experience had already been spoiled. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, the head bartender at the pool bar sarcastically said, “Say hi to the receptionist on your way out.” It was a completely unnecessary and unprofessional comment.
We were quiet, respectful, and weren’t causing any disturbance whatsoever so ever. We couldn’t help but feel we were treated differently because we were young and English, although we can’t be certain. Regardless, the lack of communication between staff and the dismissive attitude completely ruined what should have been a pleasant visit.

this hotel really made our stay in split very memorable :) the staff are so friendly and really tried their best to accommodate every request we made, which we really appreciated!! every afternoon they also came in with chocolate for us which we found very sweet.
breakfast in particular was a highlight- the spread has so much variety and is so colourful and it was such a treat to wake up to that every day. they also have other facilities, like the rooftop bar and pool which has a really nice view of the city.
overall, we had a great time at the cornaro and we’re so glad we chose it for our stay in split! highly highly recommend.

Great Location
We stayed for four nights. Hotel in a fantastic location.The rooms are a good size and air conditioned,which was a god send has it was very warm whilst we were there. The breakfast was great you could order from the menu and the staff were very attentive. The view from the rooftop was terrace was fantastic, they could actually do with a few more sunbeds. All in all our stay was fantastic.

Lovely Hotel in a Perfect Location
The Cornaro has a perfect location in Split - walking distance to La Riva and all the major attractions in the old city. Our room was nicely decorated, spacious and very quiet. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast, and the wonderful a la carte dishes that are made to order.
Our only complaint is that the servers at the rooftop bar were very rude to the teenage girls on our trip. One actually said that they were not allowed to take photos there at sunset! And this was after we had spent the afternoon by the pool and paid for quite a few drinks. That was disappointing.
