My stay at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort was truly one of the most memorable travel experiences I've ever had. From the seamless booking process to the warm welcome upon arrival, every detail was handled with exceptional care and professionalism. The staff's genuine kindness and hospitality made me feel valued throughout my stay, and the managers' personal interactions with guests made the experience even more special.
“All of the staff” provided outstanding service, and I wish I could remember the names of every team member because they all made a lasting impression. The accommodations were immaculate, the dining was exceptional—especially Saltwood, the Terrace breakfast, and the unforgettable Jetty Burger—and every meal was fresh and delicious. I recommend purchasing a food package.
As a solo traveler, I felt very safe and everything exceeded my expectations. Leaving was the hardest part because I truly felt so much warmth, care, and genuine hospitality. I cannot wait to return to experience even more of this incredible resort.
Lastly, if you are wanting to come to this beautiful resort and you’re not sure if you can afford it please reconsider your options! This is one of the best resorts I have ever experienced, and the visit was worth every dollar spent!
Had the good fortune of going to Sugar Beach over July 4, 2026. The villa was as clean as could be, and beautiful, The food was excellent. The staff was friendly and responsive. Sugar Beach exceeded our expectations. Don't miss it!
Incredible experience for the whole family. All the staff was terrific, but Charles in particular made the trip as smooth and easy as possible. He was amazing to work with.
Sugar Beach really impressed us! It’s much larger and nicer than the photos would lead you to believe. Our cabana was outstanding and had a really good, almost silent, central air conditioning. We loved our private pool.
We were up on the hillside so we had to take the shuttle everywhere. That was easy and convenient. I just wish they used smaller, golf cart style electric shuttles like we’ve seen at most other resorts. The gas powered vans are noisy and a hassle to get in and out of.
The beach is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Just a stunning location and view. The photos don’t do it justice.
The only downside to this resort is the food. Quite disappointing overall, especially the breakfast which was downright poor. The breakfast buffet is huge, but it’s almost all just pastries and fruit. There’s very little food of substance, and if it’s not included in your room rate you’ll be paying $50pp for it! Outrageously overpriced even for a resort. The other restaurants were just ok. The sushi one was the best, but they are they stingy with the wasabi. We kept asking for more and they’d come back with a literal pea sized dot of it. The other restaurants were just not good. These service was excellent- the service is excellent everywhere at the resort, but the food is not. I ordered the $50 Caribbean surf and turf for lunch one day, and it was like something from a school cafeteria. They literally put unseasoned shrimp on a skewer and grilled them. Same with the unseasoned beef skewer. No attempt at any flavor whatsoever, just protein on a stick. I paid $110 for the steak sampler at dinner and it was 3 undercooked, thin samples of meat. Mediocre at best, but at that price totally unacceptable.
So, aside from the food Sugar Beach is amazing, and I highly recommend it, and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
My wife and I spent our babymoon at Sugar Beach exceeded all of our expectations. While the resort is as spectacular in person as the photos suggest, the service is what sets this place apart. Immediately treated as if we had been there many times before. James and the entire staff made an active effort to make sure we were having the best trip possible. Charles and Markenzie, were fantastic - from making our stay seamless and went above and beyond ensuring we had the best vacation.
The Resort offered more specialized offerings than I have seen at comparable 5 star resorts. Particularly, they hosted a July 4th extravaganza that rivaled any USA 4th of July event I have attended. We were very surprised that the resort went all out and put on a beach BQQ, Rock n Roll band, and firework show to celebrate the Fourth of July! It is evident the team takes customer experience seriously and invests in experiences.
We did the sunset catamaran trip (leaves directly from the resort that makes it super convenient), sunset yoga, snorkeling on site and kayaking. It is rare to find a resort where you are able to stay onsite all week and not get bored. We ate all meals onsite and kept it fresh by trying all of the restaurants which all offer different vibes and cuisines. The steak tasting plate at Saltwood is not to be missed!
James made an active effort to check in on us throughout our stay and provided us plenty of suggestions for dinning and activities. Thank you to everyone who made our stay at Sugar Beach the first of many!
