Best Indian Restaurant in St Lucia
During our stay we were guest at Sandals La Toc but we had the great fortune to have dinner at the Bombay Club at Sandals Grande. The General manager Della John should be so proud of the hotel and all its staff as the meal was one of the most authentic and delicious that we had in St Lucia.
We were so lucky to have 2 Indian chefs, Sundar Singh & Harbeer Singh cooking the most delicious food. The poppadum came with chutneys and a yogurt dip. The samosa, lamb chops, chicken tikka and fried fish were absolutely delicious.
Front of house we received a very warm welcome from Harish Ahuja who you could tell had years of hospitality experience and as we had overeaten on the starters was kind enough to allow us to take a short break by the bar outside the restaurant.
The other staff Denia Baptiste, Amanda John, Selma Philbert and Brittany Joseph were all so friendly and attentive, I didn't even notice that they had brought me another beer when I finished the one I had. I think together they are a dream team and I would highly recommend anyone staying at any of the Sandals resorts in St Lucia to make this a must visit on their trip.

Highly recommend asking for Ansel
If you’re getting photos taken during your visit, be sure to ask for Ansel! She was incredibly kind, friendly, and made the entire experience so much fun. She kept us engaged the whole time and captured the most beautiful memories we’ll treasure forever. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer—highly recommend!
Wonderful and Relaxing!
The staff did an outstanding job from checking in until checkout! Neville, Cassius, Lady Lemonade, Eva, Abby, and so many from those working the grounds to housekeeping, wait staff and so many more! The Grande is gorgeous and well kept. Food and drinks are great! No complaints! All ring glitches were corrected immediately and compensated! The guys loved the golf excursions. Loved the speedboat as well.
Beautiful island, worth every penny
We had an amazing time and the hospitality was top notch. Good food, good people, beautiful island. Shout out to Shana, Andre, Neville, Cassius, and Egbert - these employees are gold stars 10/10 at all times and made our experience amazing.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 – Amazing Vacation, Just Don’t Go Expecting Gourmet Food

We traveled to Sandals Grande St. Lucian with four other couples, and it was an amazing vacation! If you’re looking for a resort that’s great for couples traveling together, I highly recommend it. There was always something going on around the main pool, pool volleyball & games were one of the highlights of our trip.
The beach is absolutely beautiful, but here’s a tip that would have made our first day much better: head to the left side of the beach. The sand is soft, powdery white, the water is calm, and it’s incredibly easy to get in and out. We started on the right side, which is much rockier and made getting into & out of the water much more difficult. It’s worth bringing your own snorkel to check out the fish right there off the pier!!
We rented a beach cabana for two days, and it was a fun splurge. Having a butler bring us food and drinks was definitely nice. However, if you’re wondering whether butler service is worth it just for the drinks, keep in mind that later in the day the staff regularly walk around the pool and beach taking drink orders for everyone. The service was excellent, so I don’t think butler service is a necessity unless you’re looking for the extra luxury and reserved seating.
The only reason I’m giving the resort 4 stars instead of 5 is the food. It was perfectly acceptable, but it was not gourmet or five-star dining. We always found something to eat, but if you’re a foodie or booking Sandals expecting exceptional cuisine, you’ll probably be disappointed.
Our favorite food:
- The Jerk Chicken Shack is an absolute must!
- The BLT at The Mariner was one of the best lunches we had all week.
- The dessert selection at the lunch buffet had lots of delicious-looking choices.
- Barefoot by the Sea consistently served the best-quality meals of the trip. Highly recommended the coconut shrimp!!
- The hibachi was a fun experience, but average taste.
The nightly entertainment was enjoyable, and the performers were very talented. My only suggestion would be to add a dedicated stage. I think it would make the evening shows feel more polished and allow everyone to enjoy them a little better. If you don’t get seats early, it can be hard to see.
Some of the rooms are newer or recently remodeled. Our was not, but was perfectly acceptable for the amount of time we spent in it.
If you’re planning to do an excursion, I highly recommend JJ’s Speedboat Tours. Although it’s not technically operated by Sandals, you can book it through the resort. It was one of the highlights of our vacation! The tour includes the Pitons by speedboat, a waterfall, the volcano mud baths, snorkeling, and an authentic Caribbean lunch. Staff that stood out: Neville, Deja, Lemonade, Jada, Heather, Nickolas, Constance & many others! They go out of their way to get to know you & remember your name!
Travel tip: we booked our flights through Sandals, and they had us connecting through Chicago with a 90 minute layover. However, on the way home, you must go through customs, pick up your bag and recheck your bag, and go back through TSA! If we didn’t use MPC (Mobile Passport Control) we NEVER would have made our connection!!! As it was, we were the last people to board!! I recommend a longer layover on the way home due to customs!
Overall, we had an incredible week. Between the gorgeous beach, friendly staff, fun activities, and relaxing atmosphere, we’d absolutely come back. As long as you arrive with realistic expectations about the food, I think you’ll have a fantastic vacation.
