Excellence Oyster Bay

This vacation was the Honeymoon for me & my wife. We had an excellent time trying almost all the restaurants, swimming a the beach, and relaxing in the pools.

Our stay at Excellence Oyster Bay was one of the highlights of our 18-day Jamaican vacation. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary by staying at three different resorts, and while each one was special in its own way, Excellence Oyster Bay was the resort that celebrated us the most.

We stayed in one of the Private Beach Villas, and from the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special. It seemed like around every corner there was another surprise waiting for us. From an incredible balloon bouquet celebrating our anniversary to a romantic private beach dinner (which was moved to our patio because of threatening rain—but honestly turned out to be just as magical), every detail made us feel truly celebrated.

The biggest reason our stay was so unforgettable was because of our incredible butlers, Daniel and Jhyson. We simply cannot say enough wonderful things about these two young men. They went above and beyond every single day—from arranging our floating breakfast to checking in on us just to chat. Daniel especially took the time to get to know us on a personal level, and my husband looked forward to those conversations every day. He was also always singing to us, and his joyful personality brought a smile to our faces every time we saw him. Those little moments made our vacation feel even more personal and memorable. By the time we left, we felt like we weren’t just saying goodbye to butlers, but to friends. Excellence is incredibly fortunate to have Daniel and Jhyson representing their resort.

One experience we’ll never forget was the morning we checked out. After our transportation had already arrived to take us to our next resort, my husband realized he had accidentally left an important item at the spa the day before. Without hesitation, Daniel and Jayson sprang into action. Not only did they locate the missing item, but they personally made sure it was returned to us—even arranging for it to be delivered over an hour away to our next resort. That level of care, dedication, and genuine concern is something we’ll never forget, and we are forever grateful.

Another highlight of our stay was our private one-hour bartending experience with Oshane. He was so much fun, incredibly personable, and created some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. Every afternoon, when we escaped the Jamaican sun, we’d stop at the bar near our villa and were always welcomed by Oshane and Marshalee with warm smiles and outstanding hospitality. They quickly became one of our favorite parts of each day.

We also want to recognize our wonderful housekeeper Sydia , who kept our villa absolutely immaculate throughout our stay. Her attention to detail never went unnoticed and made coming back to our room each day such a pleasure.

A special thank you also goes to Dean, our photographer, who captured beautiful and fun photos of our 40th anniversary. Those memories will last a lifetime, and we’re so thankful to have them.

As for the resort itself, the grounds are beautiful, the food was excellent, and the service throughout the property was outstanding. If we had one suggestion, it would be regarding the design of the Private Beach Villa. The floor-to-ceiling windows made it difficult to keep the bedroom cool during the day, although the fan that was provided helped tremendously. We also found ourselves wishing there had been a wet bar sink near the beverage area, more dresser space for clothing, and additional shelving in the bathroom for personal items. These were minor inconveniences and certainly did not take away from what was otherwise an incredible stay.

After experiencing three different resorts during our anniversary trip, Excellence Oyster Bay left the biggest impression on us—not because of the beautiful villa or the amazing amenities, but because of the people. The genuine kindness, thoughtfulness, and exceptional service we received made our 40th anniversary feel truly special. While we always make it a point to celebrate our marriage ourselves, having an entire team join in that celebration made this milestone even more meaningful.
