Fantastic holiday. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and had the best time ever. Tre works behind the bar and makes the most amazing cocktails. He is such a nice guy who made our stay that extra bit special. All the hotel staff and management were warm and welcoming and made our stay so memorable. We will see you again and Tre we can’t wait to sample your daiquiri again! See you all soon xxx
We had such a relaxing holiday at Island Inn. The staff were so attentive and friendly especially Sharon, Tre, Mary and Elsie. The food was exceptional and was so nice to not have buffet style every night. Rum tasting is a must, entertainment was great and the cleanliness was 100%. We have just booked to come back next year and can't wait
This is the best hotel, amazing staff, fantastic food, nothing too much trouble, if you didnt fancy what was on the menu the fab chef would make you something else. We were upgraded on arrival to the suite room by the pool. Each room is a little "bungalow" small friendly hotel (24) rooms, nice pool. Room had a massive shower, comfy bed, house keeper cleaned every day. Cannot fault at all, literally 1 minute walk to the beach, watching the horses having there swim. The staff at the hotel are lovely, the manager is always around making sure everything ok.From the gardeners to the chefs, housekeepers, bar tenders (Tre and Terry) and quiet Viktor. To the fantastic waitresses big shout out to Elsie, Mary and Sharon. So much fun. Could not fault this hotel at all, And this is our 8th visit to Barbados, but not our last to Island Inn x
We came back after 24 years, we had visited a few times as a couple many years ago and the food and the accommodation was fabulous. Had to check in after a long day via a QR code filling in information that I wanted the Reception staff to do. Not very happy however room was wonderful, food is very mediocre, basic buffet at breakfast, no one asks if you want eggs done differently from the white scrambled eggs which do not taste of anything. Positives: still a lovely pool and we had a lovely room plus Tre was the only happy member of staff. Negatives: Do not work in hospitality if you dont like people or know how to do your job. From sullen reception to a moody bartender who measures your drinks to waiting staff, who are all very unhappy or maybe its just me. Management needs to be completely replaced if you think this is acceptable, food used to be fab, lunch on our departure was Ham sandwich or a fish sandwich, yikes this is bad. What has happened to the wonderful Island Inn, sadly we will never return
Great value for money, short walk (less than 2 mins) to the beautiful pebbles beach (white sand and blue sea!) See Benjamin the beach guy for bed/ parasol with the red and white umbrellas - charges around 40BBD for 2 sun loungers and umbrella (price probably varies throughout the low and high season). Food lovely - always well presented and tasty, can always find something off the menu to eat. Buffet breakfast ( you can request various egg options, which isn’t obvious to begin with), and buffet lunch/ dinner a couple of times a week. Restaurant staff/ waitress and waiters very attentive, always greeted with a smile. Elsie (the waitress who dances lots!) is a credit to the hotel. Service sometimes slow but this is the Caribbean! Rooms - in some rooms the bathrooms are tired and dated and in need of an upgrade. Otherwise rooms clean and comfy. You will need to request beach towel change at breakfast each morning otherwise they are not replaced, would be nice if this was done automatically. Bar - Terry and Tre are the best! Management should recognise their outstanding talent and why many people return numerous times just to see them. Cocktail menu needs updating but if you ask for a particular cocktail they will make it for you. Rum tasting on a Wednesday night followed by the BBQ is a must. This is included as part of AL package. Thank you both for your service, excellent cocktails and making time to talk to the guests. Could do with 2 staff at the bar at times or a bar porter to wash up/ collect glasses during busy times. You can visit the sister hotels - The Sands and Mango bay if you request to do so at the reception- 1 days notice required. Need to make own transport- taxi to mango bay cost 80BBS. Would recommend to visit- saw sting rays very close to shore at Mongo Bay! Taxi to airport cost 104BBD (this was for 3 people and 3 suitcases). Weather in October was lovely- odd downpour during 2 of the 8 days but then sun came out. Did rain overnight but who cares then! Overall you get what you pay for, don’t go here if you want luxury Caribbean as this isn’t it but it is small, friendly and for us a great hotel which we will return to.
