First let me start by saying we had a blast! However, we feel like the direction seems to cater to a specific demographic. Pardon my frankness but every patron is NOT old and white. When we came to sandals Antigua 3 years ago there was way more Caribbean culture everyday. And the resort entertainment was way more interactive. This time the productions are bigger but no where near as fun and entertaining for us. Pool events consist of trivia and more trivia… what happened to the games in the water, the dancing by the pool and all the other games? Why is Caribbean music played so little? We had to beg to play anything Caribbean. Mondays cultural day should be on Thursday or Friday or Saturday. The food is still great! However why is there zero options to get Caribbean food inside the resort? Bring back the fried fish sandwich to the barefoot restaurant.
Aside from all of that it’s all about the staff! The staff were and are always the best part of the resort. Each entertainment crew member, each bartender, each photographer and all the people with a name tag were phenomenal!
These are the names of the incredible staff members that made our time so memorable. Without their presence and personalities and willingness to go above and beyond to make sure we were not only seen but taken care of and also ensuring we were all enjoying ourselves. I would go on and on about how incredible each one is but I’d be here all day.
Entertainment crew: Amanda (energy!!! Host wit the most) Juju Adam (listen to his ideas he’s awesome) De-Andre (bright future) Lynnique (lights up the entire show) Cassie Super j Nia
Bar staff: Shimmea Ashmaine Sha diamond Kadeem Joshua Sydonna
Photographers: Delmore (#1 photographer on the resort) Ted Ja-moi
Pizza staff: Denique Jackie Chamantha
This was our honey moon vacation! I absolutely loved this vacation! 5 star for the food, 5 star for the views, 5 stars for the service, 5 star for the atmosphere and we are giving a special 5+ star for one of the staff there that we met! ALEXIA did a wonderful job of making me and my husband feel super welcome! Alexia also went above and beyond by making us a special drink called the GUMMY BEAR (which was off the menu, Alexias recipe and special drink). We now try to make these drinks back at home and share with all our friends! I know I put 4 stars and that is for ONLY one reason, the Beach Vendors. Everything else was 5 stars! There were a lot of beach vendors trying to sell cheap souvenirs, jet ski rentals, and drugs too- they were very very pushy. Every single time we tried to go to the beach the vendors would try to sell to us. One duo became so pressuring that we fully had to leave the beach because of how rude they became. I would get nervous going to the beach because other vendors would try to make my husband leave me alone with them. The vendors did affect the overall experience and it’s the only thing that I wish was different. Other than that it was a remarkable and stunning vacation filled with lovely food and views. Alexia was so awesome.
1st Sandals Experience!! BREATHTAKING VIEWS AND STUNNING BEACH!!! Our Anniversary trip was a complete success from the views and crystal clear beach with velvety like sand to the food and vibe of complete paradise and relaxation! This is where you want to be if you want to escape into paradise and enjoy the convenience of everything you need while enjoying a variety of amazing food options! It was such an intimate private resort and very quiet… PEACEFUL, BLISSFUL!
*The reefs they take you to snorkel - I’m speechless at the experience they provided!! Overall we enjoyed every second here at Sandals Antigua! *Club Sandals staff made everything a complete breeze from check in/out and everything in between including dinner reservations and a drink!! They did everything for you LITERALLY! *Alexia was the absolute winner on the beach as she was the most attentive perfect staff member by far! She Represented Sandals immensely for my best beach day experience overall!!! *JT aka the paparazzi ( has the same last name as us ) he by far needs to be the face of this resort!! His outgoing people personality vibed with everyone to make them feel right at home while he would capture the perfect moments for you to see!! Everywhere we went we would see JT!
Now all the food was truly amazing!! I had favorites everywhere, tried everything twice for the most part and was truly amazed to have such the quality with that many options ( I did not get to try the Tex Mex restaurant with the perfect view as they were booked up on reservations our entire 5 night stay is my only regret here ) but *SOY ( sushi ) was my FAVORITE! It all just depends on your taste! The main chef I can’t remember his name but has been there a long time was absolutely the most efficient respectful representative of my Sandals experience as well especially with dining! Thank you SANDALS GRANDE ANTIGUA for our 1st experience with your company to be such a success!! We will be rebooking through Sandals and can’t wait to experience plenty more resorts!
This was my first time staying at a Sandals Resort. As soon as we got there we were greeted with drinks and smiles.
Everyone was so nice and accommodating.
The food was delicious. Make sure you go see Miss Violet in Eleanor’s she is sweet and has the best smiles and hugs! If you go to Kimono’s, ask for Jason. He’s hysterical and engaging. He had the whole table laughing and the food was delicious.
We went to Shirley Heights which has amazing views and great music. I also went paddle boarding for the first time and can’t wait to go again.
Maitei helped us to our room and Jennifer B. made sure that our room stayed clean. Both ladies were very sweet.
Pools were clean and the pool games were fun! I would definitely go back!
The resort is beautiful. We stayed on the Mediterranean side which hasn’t been updated but still beautiful and clean. The entertainment crew keeps you entertained throughout the day. The highlight was dinner at Kimonos with chef Jason, He was awesome! Kept us entertained throughout the entire dinner. I absolutely recommend asking for him to be your chef.
