Not as expected

We have just got back from a week in el tamlet Agadir just myself & 15 year old daughter and what a shambles I wish I never went tbh! The transfer from the airport I ended up having to tip a random man that took my bags thinking he was part of the transfer he wasn’t just money money money mad. The location was great but around the hotel was dated and needed a good painting and bleaching. The atmosphere and vibe made our holiday the entertainment staff work endlessly to make everyone have the best time. Becraful at night outside the complex isn’t safe at all. I wish I could say I would go back would I wouldn’t please read the reviewed before booking at you might be as disappointed at us

Avoid

Where do I even start… This was honestly a holiday from hell! The rooms are extremely outdated and dirty. Toilet doors have weird wooden doors with holes so everyone can hear and smell your business! There are no air vents or air conditioner in the room, so you have to keep your rooms doors open to create a draft and air ventilate.. There is no mini fridge for cold drinks at evening. There is no hair dryer in the room either… You can get it, but you MUST queue outside a guess relations window at 8am in the morning! The food is mediocre at best.. Very tasteless and bland, and there are always people queuing up for one thing.. The pool water is always disgustingly dirty full of plastic cups floating around and nobody’s bothering to clean it. There are multiple bars to get drinks from, but they are all closed and only one side is kept open so again.. There are massive queues everywhere. The bar staff is also actively ignoring you at the bar, for whatever reason.. Unless you give them a tip, then they will bring you drinks down to where you are sat at… The reception staff is awful and very unhelpful. We asked about hair dryer and clothes ironer on our first arrival day, and was told that they didn’t have any in hotel and to go buy from shop. Later, I believe one of the managers that we met, told us there is but you need to take it out with deposit from guest relations kiosk… There was no bottled water provided in our room, and unfortunately i got an allergic reaction to tap water and had to go to pharmacy to get treatment and medication..

A very enjoyable 3-star stay - just manage your expectations

We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at El Pueblo Tamlelt in Agadir.

The first thing I would say is to judge this hotel for what it is: a 3-star all-inclusive resort. If you arrive expecting five-star luxury, you will probably be disappointed. If you arrive with realistic expectations, there is plenty to like.

Our room was basic but clean, with housekeeping visiting every day. The bed was comfortable, and the en suite shower and toilet were perfectly adequate. We had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.

One of the biggest advantages is that El Pueblo Tamlelt shares its facilities with the neighbouring hotel. Between them there are four swimming pools, the main buffet restaurant and two additional restaurants that can be booked daily while still being included within the all-inclusive package. The food is exactly what you would expect from an all-inclusive resort: freshly prepared in large quantities rather than fine dining, but with good choice and enough variety across the week that we always found something we enjoyed.

A useful tip for future guests: if you look after one of the waiters with a generous tip on your first day, the service for the rest of your stay is excellent. We never had to wait for a table and our drinks were often brought to us at meal times.

The entertainment team deserves real praise. They work incredibly hard throughout the day and evening, creating a fun atmosphere without being overbearing. We also found the staff to be friendly and able to communicate confidently in English and French as well as Arabic.

Wi-Fi is available across the resort and worked well in the public areas, although the signal does not yet reach every room.

There are shops on site selling souvenirs and holiday essentials, and the vendors were happy to let us browse without any pressure to buy, which was refreshing.

The hotel's location is also a real plus. Agadir beach is only a short walk away, and there are plenty of reasonably priced shops, cafés, bars and restaurants nearby if you fancy a wander outside the resort. We also felt very safe doing so. We have been on holidays elsewhere in the world where we were reluctant to go off resort, but that could not have been further from our experience here.

Our only slight hiccough came on the first morning when trying to meet our holiday representative. Because the resort is effectively two hotels sharing one complex, there was a little confusion about where we should go. It was quickly resolved the following day and did not really affect our holiday.

One practical tip: bring your own beach towels. Room towels are not allowed around the pools, and although towels can be hired from the resort kiosk, it is only open from 10am until midday, Monday to Saturday. Packing your own is much easier.

The bar offers a fairly limited drinks selection — one bottled beer, a couple of cocktails and the usual soft drinks — but the bar staff are friendly, efficient and welcoming.

One final note for UK visitors: do not assume zebra crossings work in quite the same way as they do at home! Traffic seems to have a rather more flexible interpretation of pedestrian priority, so cross carefully and confidently once you spot a suitable gap.

Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay. El Pueblo Tamlelt is not pretending to be a luxury hotel, but it is clean, friendly, well run and good value for money. If you are looking for a relaxed 3-star all-inclusive resort in a good location, it is well worth considering. We would happily return.

Avoid

staff are unhelpful, place is dirty and not been updated in years. there is no privacy when using the toilet as people in the bedroom can see and hear everything. looks nothing like the pictures and definitely not a 3 star hotel.

Avoid at all cost

Location is good rep team is fantastic everything else downhill, Hotel is Dated, Dirty, old fashioned and,I’m suprised onthebeach still offers this hotel on there system, As a family of 10 we had 5 rooms, 2 of our party had to be moved immediately due to smell and dangerous balcony of rooms they got issued, old fashion televisions which the young ones of our group were amused by and had no idea why they had no remote control, showers head broken, toilet system broken we got fed up reporting for them to fix and be broken again soon after, The bedding sheets were not changed once in our 7 night stay even with us asking it was blanked, The bites we have come home from will back this up, having to purchase bug sprays for rooms, beds and skin was also and unexpected expense, the pools I hated the fact the smaller pools for younger children were a home to all kinds of birds at night god only knows what babies/young children were swallowing next day in pool, lots of cockroaches also Food was repetitive everyday breakfast lunch and dinner with same Temperature of cold to warm Thank goodness for McDonalds and KFC delivering to hotel and Maxwells pub next door, which we all lived on for 7 days/nights only All inclusive I have ever been to where you just couldn’t eat what was on offer as was always cold to warm, ice cream & ice lollies were not on offer unless you purchased them not even as a pudding was there any hint of ice cream, custard, or rice, big disappointment when you gave children Only thing I would say this hotel has to offer is a fantastic security Guard and Reps were brilliant, when people say you get what you pay for, this did not even apply to this hotel, and speaking with lots and lots of holidaymakers on site from different parts of the world we all had the same thing in common. This hotel was not fit for purchase
