KaiSol Romance Resort

We’ve just returned from a ten night stay at Kaisol Romance Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here but have a few observations that I want to point out to others who may be looking to book this hotel, to save any disappointment:

My first impression is that despite the name, there was a distinct lack of romance. We were expecting this to be a couples only hotel due to its name and were hoping to avoid the stereotypical groups (often loud Brits) who holiday together and take full advantage of an all inclusive resort. Sadly this was not the case. I’m aware the hotel are unable to turn away bookings but groups of 4 really do ruin the ambiance for couples looking for a romantic holiday together. Listening to a bunch of loud drunk brits belting out Sweet Caroline wasn’t the vibe I was expecting.

From the posts on the hotel’s social media pages we were expecting a tranquil romantic honeymoon style holiday with ultra stylish modern rooms but sadly this was lacking for us.

Not once did we even have a few petals scattered on the bed and there were no romantic touches in the room such as a bottle of fizz or chocolates on arrival. I’m sure if you tell them you’re celebrating something you’d receive such things but at a Romance Hotel we were expecting this as standard.

The minibar in the room was topped up with water daily but once you’d drank the coke and sprite cans (2 cans of each) that’s your lot for the week.

There is a Beautiful beach with crystal clear calm water for swimming and snorkelling. Plenty of sunbeds available and drinks brought to you throughout the day. They even come around to clean your sunglasses for you!

You can put a red flag up at your sunbeds which is supposed to deter sellers hassling you but to be honest it means nothing. We were interrupted several times each day despite having a red flag - mostly by the people from the hotel spa and a very friendly man selling juices. This didn’t ruin our time but it was slightly annoying to have to keep telling the same people “no thank you” over and over each day.

The food at Kaisol is some of the best I’ve ever experienced at an all inclusive resort anywhere in the world. There is a fantastic selection of freshly prepared dishes at each meal with choices to suit everyone. We were never hungry and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. Egyptian night was especially good.

The entertainment is relaxed and suited to the hotel with live singers each night, the majority of which are very talented and enjoyable to watch.

The staff are friendly and approachable and keen to ensure you are happy and have everything you need. They work long hours in blistering heat but nothing is too much trouble for them.

Tipping is not compulsory but very much appreciated. Don’t forget the guys who clean and sweep up constantly throughout the day and night as they can often be overlooked when they don’t get the chance to build rapport with the guests in the same way the bartenders do. The toilets in the bar areas of the hotel were immaculate and it’s those guys we have to thank for that.

The rooms are clean and comfortable but could do with a bit of maintenance here and there. The electric roller blind in the bathrooms is looking very grubby and should be replaced with a frosted cover on the glass which would be easier to clean and might help to rid the musty smell as the blinds get wet. We changed our room on our first day and the second one was slightly better as it had a walk in shower instead of a bathtub. The staff were happy to oblige with this and it was dealt with quickly and efficiently once we’d spoken to our Hotel Rep.

Overall despite the lack of romantic touches and the fact that it wasn’t just a couples only hotel we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Kaisol and would happily return and recommend it to others.

This was our second visit to this wonderful hotel, and no doubt there will be a third. It didn’t disappoint in any sense, our room was beautiful and spacious, the food was a highlight, all the food was fabulous, hot and plentiful and delicious, regardless as to whether you are in the buffet or the restaurants. The staff were like family and always friendly and attentive. They all worked very hard to keep the hotel clean, customers happy and well fed! Their work ethic is amazing throughout the hotel, the security guards, cleaners, reception , and restaurant , nothing is too much trouble. As it was June the hotel was quiet being the low season, Which was better for us as the beach area gets busy but there were always plenty of sun lounges. The beach is beautiful and well staffed with great waiters. The entertainment was a bit hit and miss but enjoyable. The hotel vibe is very chilled and laid back, if you’re looking to relax in a beautiful place with incredible staff this is your place .
