Jasmine Palace Resort

I had a stay beyond description—everything was absolutely perfect! The hotel is excellent in terms of accommodation, featuring beautiful rooms, professional-grade cleanliness, and wonderful views. You really don't need to leave the hotel; everything is right here. There are multiple swimming pools, an aqua park, a beautiful sandy beach, a pier extending into the sea, and a great variety of restaurants. ​Since the beauty of any stay begins right from the start, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the reception staff for their warm welcome, swift check-in, and smooth room assignment—especially Mr. Ahmed Ismail

We have just got back from the Jasmine Palace where we spent a week there as a family of 3 having two rooms. First and foremost, the hotel is most definitely not a 5 star resort. It may have the facilities on paper, but that does not translate in the real world. The rooms are incredibly tired, beds uncomfortable and it looks like Stevie winder was doing a painting and tiling apprenticeship in our room. It also developed a foul ammonia smell in the bathroom halfway though the holiday. I'll start with the good points. There are plenty of pools to choose from and most importantly, you will never not find a sunbed. There's no worrying about having to get up early to get 3 sunbeds together. This was even the case around the activity pool. The quiet pools were exactly this, very quiet, almost to the point that it would be like your own private pool! The staff were very friendly and courteous and work incredibly hard. The grounds/gardens are very neat and tidy. The gardening team are constantly pruning, weeding and rending to the gardens. We didn't see a single cloud all week! The reception and maintenance team were incredibly efficient. Our daughters air cin stopped working in her room. I mentioned it to reception when we were out in the evening approx 9pm. We went back to our rooms about an hour later and it was all fixed. Exactly the same with our room. The lock on our patio door fell apart twice. Both times it was fixed instantly. Now the not so good bits. The food.: I know this is very subjective, but the food is pretty poor and from our experience gets worse throughout the day. There are two buffet restaurants one being up by the main reception, and the Aurora which is near the activity pool. This one seems a little newer and in our opinion, slightly better. Breakfast is good, omelettes are made fresh as are the pancakes. There's a good selection of pastries, cereals jams and of course continental meat and cheeses. Bizarrely you can have mashed potato and burgers for breakfast too !! Lunch is ok. Salad is a bit meh. Lots of weird unidentifiable pickled vegetables. There's usually a chicken or beef dish that is done at a cooking station along with a fish dish. There's also a pasta station. It's ok. Evening food is the worst of the day. It's just not very nice. Very repetitive. Don't get mi wrong, we didn't starve, but it was all just a bit disappointing. Rice with liver anyone!?!? On a side note, this is even worse if you are vegetarian. The selection for vegetarians is very limited. Drinks: There are several bars. But there is always a queue. The drinks are warm and the beer is predominantly from bottles and warm. I think I was only served draught beer about 3 times all holiday. The "spirits" are local. All inclusive spirits seemed to be brandy, gin, vodka and tequila. Whiskey, white rum etc were extra. The activity bar near the pool the staff seemed to like to argue/discuss between themselves and stop serving for several minutes even if the queue was long. There was also a distinct lack of anywhere to sit near the bars sunbeds are the only option. It's sometimes nice to just sit in the shade at a table, or on a sofa etc and have a drink outside, but this wasn't an option. Although the pools were plentiful and clean. They are quite tired, with the lining coming away from the wall in several areas. The pools are incredibly strict on the closing time too. It's like being back at school. Sunset wasn't until about 7:45pm, but on the stroke of 6pm the lifeguards would blow 3 whistles like the end of lunch break at primary school and order everyone out of the pools. Literally that's it, closed, go back to your room!! You couldn't even enjoy the early evening sun on your sunbed. The animation team worked very hard during the day. Always trying to do something with the limited resources they had. The evening entertainment seemed to be pretty dire. We walked to the theatre one night and walked straight back out again. I genuinely don't know who it's aimed at, but at 9 pm they were clapping their hands shouting "who is ready for the clown show" not us thanks! The next night was a "Charlie Chaplin show" we didn't bother, but it doesn't take a genius to work out what it entailed. Avoid the White party. It's a con. £10 per person with the promise of loads of games, bingo lots of prizes to be given away. No, it's a raffle that you have to buy tickets extra to the entrance charge. An entrance charge to the all inclusive disco bar!! There was one younger guy from the animation who I didn't think was entirely professional. I get that they have to interact with the guests, but the cynic/ protective parent in me thought that he seemed to 'interact' a hell of a lot more with younger teenage girls. It could've been me, but whether it was pushing in the pool, dancing in front of them, or grabbing their hand to try and lead them away to do an activity, it was always younger girls. This person also tried to force us to leave a review when we were waiting for our transfer. Fair enough, ask if we would be happy to leave a review, but after I said I would leave one when I got back, he persisted and said it would only take a minute, please leave one now. He even took my partners phone to get up Google maps to 'show' her how easy and quick it was to leave a review there and then. That is not a good look for the hotel. Overall, we enjoyed getting away with the beautiful weather. Other people's perception, or experiences may well be different and love the place. We are not complainers, we made the most of our holiday and though not horrific, we were pretty disappointed and would not return to the Jasmine Palace.
